My 67 GT350 is finally ready for rocker stripes to be installed. I need pictures and help with location for stripes. I remember discussion in the past on location on front fenders ahead of the doors. I haven't been able to find good pics of straight on side view.
Is it me or is the "search" function a joke. Never had any luck with it. What's the secret? It just seems to suck.

The Shelby World Registry or a Tony Branda catalog should have detailed information on stripe placement
See attached...
and Yes , Branda catalogs and the some of the older SAAC Registry's provide exact placement
So if I go with the proper 67 placement, there is not enough strip to make it to the wheel well and around.
Had the same problem back before Y2K, think the problem was an aftermarket stripe kit for both 67 – 68s. Believe there is a 67 only stripe kit available.

Assume our resident forum authorities can help.
All true about either the Branda catalog (even an old one has it) or the SAAC registry.
Test first as the "sticky" seems to deteriorate if you bought these years ago and have stored them.
And, I bought mine from Branda as at the time, ten some years ago now, they had the correct font and color. I do recall, they were long enough.

I've done three '67's - never had that problem, each kit had more then enough on that front segment to easily do a '67.

Not mine..it was from Branda. Could it have been mismarked and I god a 66 one? Not sure if they are same or different...

Mine will only go around at the top front on both sides, and about half of the fat strip, mighstart to go around, but the bottom thin strip won't make it....FACT
So is it the same stripe kit for both, but the difference is in the placement?
Seems as Branda's catalog now identifies the '67 & '68 as different part numbers. (Not sure that was the case years ago)
NPD shows same part for '66 through '68 on GT350 Blue and another for White.
Here is the diagram of placement they show for the two years...drivers' side is shown in illustration.
I just happen to have the 1968 part numbers here:
http://www.thecoralsnake.com/stripes.html
It looks like GT500s used the same kit, while GT350s are different
Hence the reference for the comment I made about "Something Big" Reproduction parts that actually are correct! (The headlight trim rings post)
Anyway, maybe I need to buy a strip kit from NPD? I hate buying parts 2 or 3 times to get the correct one!!!! Years ago, I bought a set of Boss Magnum 500 wheels, they say for 5 years, (because getting a shop to work was another story), when I went to install them, 2 of the 4 were BENT! CJ would not take them back since I owned them too long before letting them know.....
Sorry, I do not make reproduction parts or have any interest to do so.
I seem to remember a drawing that placed the bottom stripe thin line along 1\4"above the door bottom. Is that accurate?
Thanks,
Paul L

that sounds about right
So where do you buy the correct strip for a 67 GT350 one that gives you enough stripe to actually reach the fender and wrap around. Quick mock up and you can clearly see the problem

Show a picture of the opposite end of the door with the stripe mocked up . As long as you have extra at the other end of the door(latch end) you can cut and wrap around what you need on the fender end and slide the strip forward so you have enough to wrap around the fender end door edge.

So yes I thought of splicing it in, by taking the extra on both sides and doing just that, but then I thought.....it would looked "fixed" there just is not enough to slide the middle over with the soap/water either, and that would rust it looking off.
OK, now that you posted a photo of what you have to work with, it does look as though you have a '68 stripe section.
Not sure how long ago you got those from Branda, but you might see if you can get an exchange of the whole kit or just those two (each side) front segment. If just the front sections be sure the blues match before installation.

i would always change the entire side stripe on a car I owned rather then patch in a section . New or not there can be slight variations in shade from one batch of stripe from the MFG to the next.Best of luck on getting the problem solved and moving on.
Good news, I got a new set of stripes from Brenda, I wrote in the notes that they were to be for a 67 Shelby and needed to have the correct placement for the front fender. Something I did not realize was that the stripes are actually bigger than a 66 stripe. This post helped a ton as I became obsessed as I know something did not look right with the smaller stripes. The first picture is the correct stripe kit, notice the "GT350" and the actually stripes how much access there is for the fender and the placement of the GT350.
Based on a recent BaT listing here is an example of the '67 stripes not correct and correct...
Good job JD .We can always count on you for the good side by side pictures.
Thanks Bob, try to when I think it could help
