For those who were there, THANK YOU for attending the SAAC/Team Shelby Car Show on Saturday.
The day was beautiful, and so were all the cars on display. Here are a few 'stats' from the show:
- 114 cars registered for the show, but there were over 200 cars on display
- 107 people voted in the Popular Ballot portion of the show. That's 94% participation!
- 736 votes were cast to determine the Popular Ballot winners
- The car that won "People's Choice" had 29% of the attendees vote for it
- The Judged Class was selected by 4 judges, consisting of both SAAC and Team Shelby members
Very special thanks to the Team Shelby crew who helped set up the show, park the cars, register/check-in the attendees, answer questions, judge cars, help with the awards ceremony, then break it all down and pick up the trash!
Additional thanks for our show sponsors, Cobra Automotive, Inc. (care of Curt Vogt) and Tony D. Branda Shelby & Mustang Part (care of Anthony D. Branda II).
Trophies were presented as per the below list. Congratulations to everyone who went home with 'glass' from the show.....

Thanks to all who voted for our 68 and 1/2 Mustang 428 Cobra Jet GT. Unfortunately as soon as I pulled the car out of the trailer Friday morning I grabbed my chairs stepped out of my trailer door right into a divot in the grass fell down and broke my right ankle and sprained my left ankle. But that didn't stop me from taking my five parade laps around the track and going to the Friday dinner and show Saturday and driving all the way home Sunday with a broken ankle. I found out it was broken Sunday when I went to the hospital after I got home. So for those of you who didn't vote in the top 25 I managed to do it with a broken ankle.🙂
A huge thanks to Bill Caron and his Team Shelby crew for running the show this year. This is my first time missing the car show and helping run the event in over 25 years. But vacation came calling that comes first with my family.
Reading the results, and knowing many of the cars, it looks like the voting went well, and I'm tickled about Wayne's car getting best of show.
I'm very happy the new voting system worked out and could be a new standard to make things easier.
Thank you Bill for making the show a success
Damn. I was the only 2005 FORD GT in attendance. I registered for the show, had it on display and still did not win!!
