Title: SAAC-50 Registration OPEN!
Post by: Macstang on January 17, 2025, 04:00:17 PM
Hello SAAC Members,

Registration for SAAC's 50th Anniversary convention is now open, and if ever there were a national convention you will want to attend  – this would be the one. Fifty years is a giant milestone and we expect this convention will be the one everyone will be talking about for years to come.

The registration page will remain hidden for 1 week to allow SAAC members exclusive access to register without hitting limits and capacities. Many of the various components will sell out so please register soon to ensure you don't miss out on anything.

Here's the link - http://msreg.com/saac50

I will be updating the SAAC public facing page in about a week. If you have any questions, feel free to post them and I'll be happy to reply.

Hello again SAAC Members,

Registration has been open for a little more than one day. We specifically sent our email blast only to SAAC Members because we want to give you first chance at getting into all the various bits of the convention of interest to you and also to get a coveted hotel reservation at the host hotel at a discount before we run out of rooms. There are a few items which are severely limited in capacity and I wanted to share that with you now so you can take action and register for these items before they are all gone...

• Garage Bays - we're already more than 20% sold out of garage bays and this will certainly go soon
• Golf Carts - I'm told there was a run on them in the area so we have less than usual.
• Road Tour - Capped at just 50 cars, we only have 30 spots still available.
• Host Hotel - Always limited, upon registering you will get an email with a link and promo code.

As other things get full, I'll try to let you members know before we sell out. Just want to ensure SAAC members get the best convention experience possible!

See you at Sonoma!

I registered yesterday, but maybe I missed something: I don't see anything on the host hotel.  I went and registered at the Embassy Suites San Rafael as its always been there in the past, on their website.  Saw nothing about SAAC.

Where is the Host Hotel, and and the info? EDIT: I see the original SAAC 50 info, but that was before the dates moved.

EDIT#2 Disregard the above.  The info for the hotel is on your receipt when you register for SAAC 50.

Hey GrabberOrange69,

Sounds like you found the information. Basically the hotel contact info, discount code, and a link to register are all found in the confirmation email you get once you go through registration on MSR. We have a good size block of rooms available at a discounted price.

If anyone registers and doesn't get the email (it likely ends up in junk mail) just let me know and I'll be happy to resend a copy.

Thank you,

Hey Folks,

Just a quick registration update, garages have sold out! We are allowing folks to join a wait list in case people cancel.

At this point, that's the only item which has reached capacity.

Thanks!

Does access sell out or can you pay at the gate the day of the event?

As Ron mentioned, the day pass is just $30 available at the gate. In terms of selling out, I've never been to a SAAC Convention where it was so packed that people were turned away at the gate. However, individual parts of the convention can sell out. For instance, we can only have so many people at the Dinner, which usually sells out. We're already out of garages and almost out of Golf Carts. Parade Laps may sell out, but Open Track slots rarely do, but it's possible. That's why I recommend that SAAC Members register as soon as they know they'll be attending. And let's be honest, you don't want to miss the big 50th!

Another part of the event that "Sells out"/has limits is Concours Judging. There are limits to how many cars can be in each class so there is enough time to judge each car in a timely fashion. Also sometimes moving and positioning which sometimes happens when not a lot of space is available. Don't expect a need for that for SAAC-50

Because of the limited space I suggest that if your interested in having a car in one of the Concours classes and will have a car ready, to get the application in soon. The application process does include a number of steps so don't assume all you need do is to register and pay a fee. Part of applying includes submitting pictures of specific areas of your car and getting them reviewed before your application is accepted.

Really looking forward to a great group of cars this year. Hope to see a lot of you there - Safe travels

What steps are needed beyond registering for SAAC 50 and paying the Concours judging fee?

If you just want to attend and show a car think that is about it if you live close enough to not need a room. Sure someone will correct that if I've over looked something  :)

Thank you very much, that is the information that was missing in the signup and payment for Concours Judging on the form and website for SAAC 50.

Not really...
When you select a car for entry into Concours, it asks for car info and displays this...

"...Concours car model(s) and year(s) and VIN(s)
Please enter the model and car you intend to have judged at the Concours
Forms and guidelines are available for download at https://www.saac.com/forum/index.php?board=8.0
Be sure to contact concours@saac.com to verify your entry qualifications PRIOR to registering."

I saw that, and downloaded the forms, but there is no link that shows up on concours@saac.com so when I googled it for a website, nothing showed up. But now I can see it is an email address.  Sorry, maybe I am dense and don't get it. So should I send the information form to that address as well?  I filled in the 5S230 and VIN in the box at the registration. Thanks.

Yes, all correspondance to the Concours Committee should go to concours@saac.com
