Thanks for the link!
Watch the BJ u-tube video done by mike m. as that helped this KR bring the big $ so car dont have to be a 4-speed to bring the $ as long as its BLACK !!
Id rather have a GT40 or Id rather have two GT40s instead on a Lincoln Continental
Yeah that Lincoln bought stupid $ you would have thought it was owned by Abraham himself ya think!
There is a lot of stupid stuff happening there which I will not point out in a strong Second Amendment supporting country. Shoot someone else for pointing out the obvious please.
That having been said, there is something to be said that there is money in the economy if there is this much disposable income. The bad side is that it proves you do not need to be smart to have this kind of money to spend.
That brings us back to our own cars that when we decide it is time to pass them on to another caretaker, it is the "tire kickers" that are full of do-do when they tell you it isn't worth "that kind of money". That is just doodly squat.
Just like at B-J, if the car didn't sell, then the right buyer was just not there...this time.
All in all, the B-J auction is a very interesting social phenomenon, even after all of these years, it still winds up sucking me in.
I try to resist but as of yet, I don't have that strength.
The wife and I love Barrett Jackson, Mecum, Bonhams, whatever. We've been going for years just to see all the amazing offerings and watch the show unfold. I swore that I'd never buy or sell a car at one of these auctions because I don't fully trust the auction houses but for the first time ever, I did buy something.

Was it a black KR fastback? :)
Noooo. Not the black KR fastback. That car went for big bucks. Honestly, I'm pretty happy with my 68 GT500 that I've owner for almost 20 years now. It satisfies my 60's car itch.
At my current stage in life, I don't have much of a desire to pick up any "collector" car, new or old. Recently, I've been spending time at the track with my 2013 BOSS 302S and being on track is what gets my blood pumping so I'll be out there, this summer, with it. After I change all the fluids, get some new tires and have it inspected. I had a shot at this car two years ago at BJ Vegas but I didn't pull the trigger. Honestly, this car looked reasonably priced to me when comparing it to some of the resto mod cars and many of the other offerings that crossed the block.
Or maybe I'm just a dumbass ;D

If that is what you bought congratulations on your purchase and happy driving.
Yep. That's what I bought. Should be allot of fun on track.

Wild, black for the win! Get the right 2-3 bidders and I am sure the car is super nice.
We are seeing a trend for black 67/68 fastbacks bringing stupid money
I assume that sale was a record price??
Pat
To TLea's point, if I recall correctly, there were even fewer black '67s than'68s. It would be interesting to see a black '67 go across the block.
At Barrett-Jackson, the seller laid a binder with a few pictures next to this car. One picture showed the car in the barn/shed/garage before it saw the light of day again. No doubt there was a ton of work to bring this car up to the condition we see today. Nice to see that work pay off for the seller and another great car brought out from hibernation.
