"... I have a set of genuine Ford Shelby valve covers to suit FE BIG BLOCK. They are off a 428. I've had them since the mid 80's. Ive been told they could be from the 60's. I've also been told that's the breathers were an option extra? Is there any way of distinguishing the era they're from? I've added photos. Any help would be appreciated."

Those are valve covers that started to be produced in later 1967. They are genuine Shelby made. I am not aware of anyone ever reproducing those. They were a Shelby catalog part not used on any year Shelby from the factory .The breathers are something a past owner added most likely.
Commonly called
"Over the counter" parts
Not an option, an accessory
Hi guys,
Thanks for replying to this post. Your information is much appreciated. What in your opinion would be the value of these covers?
Cheers
Frank
I think the added breathers are probably decreasing the value significantly.
Maybe a couple hundred dollars?
