Title: 2006 GTH paperwork
Post by: Kevin1221 on February 07, 2025, 08:56:16 PM
Hi

I recently purchased 06H230. The car had the new owner hardware (dash plaque, 40th anniversary plaque, metal keychain), but it did not have any of the new owner paperwork (MSO, invoice, window sticker etc).

Shelby in Vegas told me they have none of the new owner items pertaining to my car. The person I bought it from did not receive any paperwork when he bought the car. I was then told the paperwork portion of the new owner packet was sent to Hertz. I found two potential individuals at Hertz on various forums, but neither are answering my email.

Do any of you have any contact info for an individual at Hertz that I can reach out to?

Thanks for any help. 06H230 is now residing in Tampa, FL.

Probably being held hostage so someone can offer it for sell.

As a friend of mine once told me...

His dad was a well known Shelby dealer.

Dad said, "we are not running a museum here. We are here to sell cars"

Im guessing Hertz has very little interest in 20 year old rental cars

Hey Kevin.

There was a way to try and reach out to Hertz to get some of the original paper work for your car but for the life of me, I don't remember who that contact might be.  It's been 15 years since I bought my 07 from the original Hertz executive owner and I assure you, my memory now sucks so I'm not much help.

Hi Kevin

First let me say welcome to the SAAC forum and how fortunate you are to own one of the late model Legendary Cult Car, your Shelby GTH.

I have a contact who  retired from the Hertz Corporation a few years ago, let me reach out to him and see if he can give you a lead.

I will p.m. you when I have a reply.

Again congratulations on your acquisition of what can I say a current and same time, future 1 of 500 collectible.

Welcome to the Hertz Rental Club !

You won't find an MSO for your car unless it's a copy of the original. Those are surrendered to the DMV when the car is first registered.

Thanks for the replies so far. I appreciate it.

The MSO that is included in the ownership package is a duplicate of the original MSO.

Good Sunday morning Kevin

See the attached from my contact:

Hi T,

Been awhile since my move, we are doing well at our final destination.

Sold my supercharged GTH went to a good home. Miss you and the gang, nothing like that magic you guys have down there.

Unfortunately I don't have any connections at old Hertz.

I've been gone 8 years and virtually all of my buddy's are also gone also.

The company brought in all new Senior  Management and they in turn bought in their own people, the old guard is gone.

In fact, the Last CEO was a GM diehard, she was on their board.

She had the mustangs removed from the lobby of the HQ and replaced with corvettes!

She is gone now and I hope they moved the historical Hertz Shelby's back, but I don't know as I no longer live in the area and can't go by and peek in the windows.

All I can suggest is that you call or email them and ask to speak with Public Affairs, that would be the department to handle such a request.

Hope you and the family are doing well

Kevin I will keep digging info for you

@FL SAAC.  FYI....I reached out via email to an individual in Public Relations a week ago. No response so far. Thanks for trying to help me.

Hi there

I believe you are in the Tampa area, they have their headquarters just directly south of you.

My recommendation is desperate times call for extreme actions are appropriate in difficult situations.

I would walk in and request to see someone to discuss your needs.

Just my 2 cents or what I would personally do.

Then I would enjoy time on Captiva beach, cheers !

Hello Kevin,
I bought my 07 GT-H back in 2014 from the first owner but he had never claimed the paperwork from Hertz so like you I tried to figure out who to contact.  Long story short I ended up writing a letter and sending proof of ownership to Hertz in Oklahoma City.  I received in the mail an envelope with my car's data from the gentleman responsible.  I've included the letter text below with the address and the name of the person at the time who managed these files.  That was over 10 years ago but hopefully it will find its way to the right place.

Mike Baird
Director Fleet Services
Hertz Corporation
14501 Hertz Quail Springs Parkway
Oklahoma City, OK 73134
Dear Mike:
I was given your contact information by Steven Thornton at Shelby American as the right individual at Hertz to claim my owners package for my 2007 Hertz Shelby GT-H CSM-07H253 (VIN: 1ZVHTxxxxxxxxx).  I have enclosed a copy of my current registration for validation purposes.
Please send the documents for my car to the above address.
My contact information is below – please let me know if you have any questions or need further information.
Thank you

@GTH452

Thanks for the reply. I had emailed Mike Beard on February 6, 2025, but have received no reply from him. I have also emailed Steve Fleske and Lauren Frits at Hertz. No reply from any of them, although none of my emails bounced back as invalid.

I'm happy that you were able to get your paperwork. I'm not sure when Hertz moved to Florida from Oklahoma, but I'm beginning to think that is when some of the issues began......and it's been almost 20 years since these cars were new!

Keep the ideas coming!

Thanks

Kevin
