Title: Illinois I-pass sticker
Post by: 353dan on February 25, 2025, 11:40:29 AM
Hello Windy City,  My I-Pass transmitter expired and Illinois is now issuing Stickers for I-Pass.  I do not want to stick it to the windshield of my GT 350 and I've been told it won't work if stick it to plexiglass. Just wondering what others have done. Thank you in advance

Dan

FL has a similar one

Tried to mount it under the hood, it did not work. Would not pick up signal

But it works on our Vette

Stuck it on the windshield, don't get anymore letter saying I blew through a toll with out paying

The website shows that you stick it on the inside of the windshield behind the mirror. I can't see how that would cause any damage. Could you make a bracket that would use the mirror bracket screw and still let it be scanned?
I mounted my transponder with a 1" square of clear dualock. https://www.amazon.com/3M-Dual-Lock-Reclosable-Fastener/dp/B007OXK272

Thanks for the advice.  Our sticker is a one time stick.  It has cuts in it so if you try to take it off it just shreds.  I personally do not like seeing the plain white sticker in the windshield at car shows so I was wondering if anyone found an alternative that could be removed during shows.  Thanks again

If you register the car with the DMV you don't need a sticker or transponder. They will simply put the tolls on your account.

Thats been my experience. Maybe someone can confirm that.

Put the sticker onto some clear vinyl static cling material. Easy to remove and put back on. For best results spray a little windex on the glass and squeegee the vinyl to get the bubbles out.
