Title: Windshield wipers
Post by: paul on March 26, 2025, 09:02:34 AM
Can anyone tell me how to ops check a wiper motor?  I have a new wiper switch but the wipers still don't work. My car has a one-speed wiper and the motor assembly is still in the car, a 1965 Mustang. Thank you in advance. Paul Marvin, 817-691-0159, paulrmarvin@icloud.com.

The connectors at the motor are easily accessible, check for power to the wires when the switch is on/off.

Thank you Charles, on this particular unit there is one connector that has three tabs on it and a second one with a single that's obviously ground. My question is, when power is supplied to the motor, would all three of those tabs show power, or just some of the tabs and which ones if not all three?

Right, was suggesting to remove the plug and see what power is going to it with the switch on/off.  Would at least rule out if the issue is the switch or motor.  I've seen a lot of loose switches on the back where the 2 sections come together.
