Title: Tilt away vacuum line routing
Post by: Almostthere on March 26, 2025, 12:18:43 PM
I have a late '68 car with factory air and tilt away. The PO robbed the tilt from it and sometime in it's life it had been hit in the front. Presently the car has two vacuum cans, one for each option. I have since pieced together a tilt away setup. Would someone be able to post pics of the vacuum line routing from the can on the left front fender apron under the battery tray and where it goes through the firewall. Right now it just has the two holes by the water control valve going through the firewall for the air conditioning.

Only one vacuum line for the tilt goes through the firewall

There should be a round hole under the lip of the cowl, almost dead ceter.

The other vacuum hose comes off the back of the engine and goes to the canister

Thanks.I had a pretty good idea where it comes in through the firewall from the Osborne schematic. I'm just not sure how it runs in the passenger compartment. Whether it runs along with the other vacuum lines or not. For now I have it running on top of the center dash vent to the drivers side and down.
