Post by: csheff on April 03, 2025, 01:26:15 PM
Ford is offering anyone A-plan starting today I believe on Ford/Lincoln due to the Tariffs being started. Not sure how long this will go for.

They said a couple months. Good move for Ford. The tariffs will have people flocking to the import dealers - not realizing many Honda's have more American content and were assembled here.
It's bad for dealers who will not make the same $$ at their stealership and will get the replacement cars from Ford with a higher price due to the tariffs on the imported parts and labor.
Ford imports about 20% of the cars they sell. Even if they are assembled here there will be tariffs on the parts - NHTSA data shows the Ford F-150, one of the top-selling vehicles in the U.S., is assembled within the country, but roughly 55% of its parts originate from outside the U.S.

Build on the Ford website and send to your dealer. He will quote it. I just compared the quote to the window sticker when it printed before the build.

Was at a local Ford dealership and spoke directly to the franchise owner. His sales have picked up considerably.

Good deal, don't hesitate ... buy, buy, buy

Looks like the Bronco is excluded?

The hot sellers and performance stuff is excluded. It's for the pedestrian cars and trucks.
On the dealer invoice there is a section with the plan prices. A is best since you save $7-800 on the advertising fee. I've used X for the last 20+ years. I go online and check Galpins stock - get a regular dealer and work with them. I call "my guy" and tell him what one I want. When we get there I sign the papers give him a check and we're out of there in 20 minutes. You are also supposed to get all the other discounts and incentives when you use the plans - most dealers will keep these for themselves so again get a regular dealer and work with them. When we bought our last F150 when it came to write the check he said just make it for 10 grand. I got you an extra thousand off by using Ford financing. Just pay it off at the first payment.
My mom's brother was a VP at the casting plant in Cleveland. She could always use his A plan. There is also an unpublished plan for the higher up execs. A/X wtc allows you to buy multiple cars per year. The exec plan allows 1 car every 2 years. It's the actual cost to build the car +10%. We stopped by to see him on our way to the 64 Worlds fair. He had just taken delivery of his loaded 65 Mustang. His cost $989. He even got a car included in his retirement. He picked a Town Car. $135 a month. Insurance and maint included. When it hit 20,000 miles he'd call and they'd bring him a new one. As they've always said "rank has it privileges".
