On GT350s, you will find the early carpet on the first batch of cars (100+) and also the second batch (the next 100+).

The front to rear battery cables that I have seen on every car is black.

The 7/65 dated shocks that I have observed are like the ones you posted.
Earlier dates have the smaller top bushings.

I have only ever seen "G2" on the GT350 (with 4 spd) radiators.

That being said, I have occasionally seen radiators that were originally/factory installed in these cars that were changed to "G2" by soldering a stamped plate over the original debossed designation.

I've seen more of these on early GT350s.

Quote from: hertz350 on July 09, 2024, 10:28:13 PMLooking for information on whether the reproduced 66 Shelby chrome Magnum 500 wheels are available? I see they are no longer on the Wheel Vintiques web site or on Mustang vendors websites.

Also looking for recommendations on which company makes the best chrome Magnum 500 14" wheels.

Thank you.

They have unfortunately been discontinued.

There are no correct ones available on the market. They were really nice, and I wish they were still available.

I get inquiries at least weekly for them.

Your only choice would be to find originals. Those are getting tough to find as well.

Something to consider about the gold color...discoloration from gas/gas fumes over the years maybe.

As others have said, Autolite 45 plugs will work great for you.

The Lounge / Re: Scammers on forum

I'm just bringing this subject to the top.

While it's useful to post "wanted" ads, and some helpful members may respond to your request, you will most likely get a lot of scammers telling you to contact certain email addresses.

Just a reminder to be very careful. It's certainly not limited to this board. It's everywhere.

Wanted:

Blue Thunder brand single 4V Large Letter Cobra Intake Manifold

New or good used. I am only interested in the Blue Thunder version, not Drake or an original.

Thank you

As Charles mentions, based on the part number, that is definitely an alternator belt for a smaller/standard alternator pulley and not a HiPo.

The flat style screws are readily available new.

We carry them.

The ones with the smaller heads are not difficult to find.

I will note that 6S1732 also has the flat style on the third screw (at the bumper guard) on each side.

Originally, the rear valance was hung in place and sprayed body color, which explains a few screws being painted.

If possible, it always a great idea to document all original details on a car when taking it apart. Even cars that have been "messed with" over the years retain some valuable original details. This includes paint colors and overspray patterns on the underside.

All to often, the disassembly process  and stripping process occurs too quickly and without documentation. There is absolutely no substitute for duplicating original details to the particular car. It is unfortunately rarely done this way.

Very well done!

The painted Magnum look on a '66 is really cool.

To answer your questions, they are both probably original.

You will find the oval holes on the earlier cars.

Usually, a bit into the '66 production, I have found that you will start seeing the valances with the round holes. Lots of times these valances used a screw like shown in the picture below. This is a picture of the original valance and screws on 6S1732. I would expect to see the same ones on your car, 6S2227.

Most of the NOS Ford rear valances that I have seen will have the round hole. Sometimes though, you will find earlier NOS versions with red primer and the oval holes.

I will add that you will usually find that the valances with oval holes using a screw with a flange.

Here is a picture of the original rear valance and screws on 5S162:

Brant, How does the personal property tax work in Va? On an annual basis what do you get taxed on in regards to Personal Property Tax? Thanks.
It varies by locality...county, town, or city. Then there are so-called "tax relief" bills, etc. It may depend on the item being taxed as well. Obviously, places like Northern VA have higher rates than rural areas.

what is the personal property tax rate on autos in Mo? I read online where Va is 4.15 per 100 so that would be 4150 per 100K per year just to own the car in Va? that is nuts. Here in Mi I have paid ZERO for years and have a lifetime same year plate on my Shelby. Ditto for my Mach1.
In VA, that is a one time sales tax amount on the purchase price of the vehicle. Older cars like that then don't get included in the annual personal property tax.
