Pete,
Oops!  I just realized you were asking about the car # in reply # 8.

That is a picture of Phil Quinn's car at an earlier MCACN event.  His car is # 2686 as Gary mentioned in reply #11 (Reply # 11 has pictures of my car at MCACN 2023, but includes Phil's Marti report in the same reply)

Sorry for the confusion.

Pete,
The MCACN (2023) car in Gary's picture is my car (Bob Wilson restored it)...... # 3126.

Thanks!

Yep!  I always enjoy the old Dealer ads.

Also - Do you have anything from Ramp Motors?

Here is a picture of the "recall" (I have the rerouted venting in the trunk as well) cap on my 1970 GT500.  Is this correct?

Thor,
Car was built on June 11, 1969 and Sold on 5-19-70.

Ed,
Thanks for confirming the distributor.  I'd be interested in seeing what the white DOZF engineering number decal looks like at some point.

Thanks for the info Ed!

My '70 GT500 4-speed car has the original D0ZF distributor with a date code of August 29, 1969. (Here is a pic - It is out of the car to remove the silver paint from the previous owner).

Thanks for the great information Ed!
The carb has the changes you mentioned.  The car was built on June 11, 1969, so the carb date code (921) would be 4 months prior to the build date on my car.

Thanks!

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Carb Tag Decoder

Need help decoding the original carb tag on my 1970 GT500.  I understand the engineering number C9AF - M - (1969 4-speed) and the date code  9BA (1969 Feb 1st wk  - matches the carb date code (921).   I assume the A is a design change designation?  I do not know how to decode the ""ED" .

Is there a decoder to understand what that is referencing?   Did this have anything to do with the conversion of the carb to manual choke? (the automatic choke tube was removed and a manual choke was installed in the conversion of '69 GT500's to '70 GT 500's)
