Thank you regarding the E casting month.  Would that date of 428 have the A scratch? even in a T-bird It seems like the A is not always there and I dont know if that means non webbed support or not.

Thx

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / 67 GT 500 replacement block
November 02, 2022, 12:12:57 PM
Hi All,
I have a 67 that came off the production line June 7th of 67.  In search for an appropriate date code block it came to mind that it would be much easier to just put a 428 CJ block with a C scratch then find a March, April or May block with C6 ME A  I have found a C6ME A dated august of 66 with small rod bolts of 3/8 but again that's a little early of production date.

How much added value or reduced value do you think would be the net result of that?  Or would a 427 be seen as a good thing?

I would go with the correct block if I come up with one but thought I'd ask this question.

Thanks in advance

Yeah mine is an Autolite to.  However by late 69 or 70 model on GT500 the hose enters the top of the filter with a 90 degree elbow.

Branda is out of inventory on the replacement harness that runs from the dash to the trunk. This feeds tail lights, marker lights, plate lights etc.  Mine is past due for a replacement.
Thanks in advance if you have a suggestion

Bob, do you know if the hood hinges were also a funky gold.  I had my hinges rebuilt and they just asked if I wanted them black or the original gold.  I'm not sure they would really know.  Some of the photos make them look like they are bare metal.  My powder coated black looks great but I guess thats got to go...LOL

I to am repainting a 70 GT500 conv.  Are you guys saying these bolts were gold regardless of the body color?  Was this an anodized gold? Can I assume the fender bolts were also this gold color

Thanks so much

I have studied several Shelbys photos of the 69/70 and my guess is that the fender bolts were not painted the color of the car at Ford but if you know please advise me.  If not painted what is the silver look I see on some restored cars?

Thanks
