Wanted to Buy / Re: ‘66 Ray Brown Seat Belts

Definitely Chrome and long hooks for the 2/26 car. Either Ray Brown or Impact would be appropriate.  They can even be a mix set between the two seats.  I think short hooks are generally considered Early.

Hi Paul,

That is a very good question. I believe I need chrome hardware with long hooks. Ray Brown or Impact would work.

Thank you.

I was looking at these. They have an OD of 8.7" instead of 8.5". The filters are not in front of me so I was not sure if 8.5" is the OD of the element.

I'm also not sure if I can get that extra .2" to fit.

Any recommendations for replacing the 8.5" filter element?

Thanks

I am looking for an original set of Ray Brown belts. My car is a February 1966 car so earlier the better. Thank you. Nick

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Tire recommendation

I am going to keep the Firestone Wide Oval radials on my chrome Magnum 500's. They would be perfect if they just had Firestone in small letters.  The large "Wide Oval" is a bit much for me.  Since I prefer blackballs, and as Brant mentioned, I am a big fan of the Michelin XWX.

My car is an original painted Magnum car.  The wheels are currently being restored, and I will probably put the Michelin XWX on the painted Magnums in 215/70VR14.

I think the 215/70-14 is the perfect tire size for a '66.

How do you post pictures?

I'm running Firestone Wide Oval 70R14, radial, bias look. They're great.

RIP Joe....you were talented and left your mark.  You will be missed.

So, about 90 pounds, on average.

Would that be the same for original Magnum 500's as well if the shop manual did not specify a wheel type?

Have you seen a car that meets that criteria yet?  That will be a tough one to find with a clean history and no issues....$75K 350's are the prices from 12-15 years ago.

That's 10 after my car.

It looks good with the Avons.

I bought a 2nd version 1966 steering wheel. It's going to look great.

More importantly, I met a great guy while doing it.

How do I post pictures?
