The screws were plated a silver zinc or cadmium. They were unprimed and so the paint used to cover them up many times quickly flacked off . And since you recently had your car painted, the same goes for the carriage bolt heads under the front valance on ether side .

Hi, my 70 Shelby has had one repaint since new, currently the two securing screws for the side body air scoops are painted, should these have a natural finish or painted..?

Re the fuel gauge, I also have a 70 GT500 and mine stopped working, took the sender unit out and found the problem was in the float which had developed a small fracture, this caused the float to fill up with fuel so being weighted down would read empty, had the original repaired and all is good, hope this helps.

Could someone please advise the correct placement for the "Manual Choke" decal..? I have heard of two locations, one being underneath on the dash frame above the choke knob, the other on the actual outer dash panel near the ignition switch.? I'm assuming it needs to be in a location where it can be read as with the seatbelt decals on the sun visors.

The colors were the identification marks.

Hi, I need to replace the spring that fits on the clutch pedal arm under the dash, (70 GT500) , there is a hole in the arm where the spring fits and then goes to a bracket, looks as though it assists to pull  the pedal back up, over the years mine has been replaced with an incorrect spring which has now broken, would someone know the correct part number please.? appreciated.

Hi, could someone please assist. I need to replace the "Hi" pitch horn on my 70 Shelby. I realize this is a standard Mustang part however I am wanting an original horn not a reproduction, looking on eBay and also various Mustang parts stores it seems that only reproductions are available. I understand from reviews that these are made in China and are of poor quality..? Are there any places I could try to source a good used original working horn or should I drill out the rivets and attempt to repair the one I have.  Appreciate any help.
