Quote from: Bob Gaines on May 31, 2024, 11:54:29 AMDoug has some good information but I am afraid that too much info may be confusing for Steve the OP. For a stock 68 KR not run on the track 5 quarts of oil is what the Ford documentation suggests to use and consequently would be prudent to go by.

Bob, Steve did not mention this car has an oil cooler. How much additional oil should he add?

I would put the clips in first confirming they fit on the posts, sometimes exsesive paint build up will need to be be trimmed to fit them properly.
Original/NOS clips are the best. Windex is a good lubricant to use.

SAAC Concours judging for 65 Shelby there would be a deduction for a side mirror.

Information like this is all in the chassis manual of the assemblyline manual set. They have saved me many hours over the years plus answer many questions i was investigating.  I would think that you would save time and stress by investing in a 67 and also a 68 version given the year of car topics you typically post on. Buying the set of available manuals for a given year was my personal choice.

True but then that information would never be covered here at all? It isn't just about me. It's about others seeking that information as well from the wiser and the much better informed.  :)

Sounds like the floats are stuck on the carberator, this happens to me alot when i don't regularly drive the cars. Take a soft headed hammer and  tap both float adjustment screw cover caps on the carberator four or five times. Should solve the problem.

You need to locate your local guy that performs clear wraps. They have many pre-cut patterns avaliable they can cut, typically for exotic cars, not sure if a 67 Shelby is on the list. My guy performs the installation free hand on the front clip of my exotic cars and he just does the lower quarter panel and interior sill area on my Shelbys. Free hand is a cleaner installation because it doesn't leave a line.

My 68 KR from Colorado had a emblem on the deck lid, my 68 500 from Pasadena had license plate frame.
