Quote from: deathsled on August 14, 2024, 09:02:57 PMYou made the right choice to finish the car.  Some never live long enough to see their car finished.  It becomes a forgotten relic.  You did very well, sir.

I owe you one of the biggest thanks. Incentive from the salvage thread

Are those reproduction Magnums they used to sell? The picture with the Magnums caught my eye since only one or two blue cars (non-Hertz) were built with them last time I counted  :) So quickly looked up to see what the original wheels were for your car.

I finally found these Jeff with a tip from  Karl at Tony Branda's. I tried Brant and Branda first but found them at Wheel Vintiques. It looks like it's connected to the Coker Tire Company.

I sold a set of original painted Magnum's a few years ago and thought I would try the repop chrome ones until I get the ten spokes done. Do you have any tips on restoring them???

I'm at work and now that I think about it, I've always been right beside the car when I posted pictures. I will figure it out.

Thanks to that salvage thread months back and some well wishes from you guys, I finally got the incentive to get it done. I was close. You all know how it is. There's always something else more important. I just got a set of Magnum 500's and new 205/70's so I can tackle restoring the original ten spokes over the winter. After I found the plate and owners card, I saw that it turned out to be 20 years since I bought it. Embarrassing.

Again much appreciated to everyone here for the push I needed to finish this car. 99 percent of the bugs are pretty well sorted out.

Looking for the paper clip to attach finished pictures. Just when you think you know what you're doing . . . .

Quote from: GAdams on May 15, 2024, 10:28:52 AMJust an update on my car. Got a little bit of help to get a few things accomplished and the incentive seems to be flowing. My engine builder was in PA. for a family deal and we got things together to fire it for the first time. It's running great.

I've got some brake issue gremlins to work out but it's getting closer.
What's the VIN on your car? Thanks.

Wanted to Buy / 1966 OEM Hood Latch Bracket

Looking for a really nice used or NOS hood latch bracket. I have the latch and support but would consider purchasing all if need be. I'm guessing this should be an easy one to find but I'm always surprised.

Appeals / Finish my Shelby
March 02, 2024, 03:42:51 PM
Any ideas or recommendations considered to get my car road worthy. It's been far too long and I have run out of motivation to energy, courage :) to finish. I have owned 6S1773 for fifteen years now and I'm feeling guilty for keeping this car hostage. I would really like a Shelby savy entity to finish it but I'm around 75- 80 percent now so any familiar with 66 Mustangs could probably get me on the road.
I don't mind waiting for the right person/shop that really wants to be involved in it. Feel free to message me I I will give you my contact info. Car is located northeast of Pittsburgh. I can deliver once I find the right fit to finish.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Here's one I am just starting to loose interest in. Someday has never come for this one. It's been mine for over 15 years now and it's a bit embarrassing that I have not finished it. Stolen and recovered years ago and Frankensteined a bit to get it back on the road. By the time I got it it was apart again. I've been able to finish the engine, paint and more than a few other things but not much has been done in the last few years. 6S1773 btw

The Lounge / Re: Checkered Flag: Tony Branda

Obviously its the love of the cars that bring us together but the friends we make over the years are the real prize.

Hanging out with the vendors so often at all the conventions, I got to meet Tony a lot of years ago. What a great person and a wonderful family. I am so glad I got a chance to say hello and shake his hand one more time at Pitt Race. Always a gentleman.

Thoughts to the family. He will be missed

Hey Bob,

It is the same as a 65 though, right? Same bolts too.
