Thanks I saw that, but it's kind of pricey for what it is.  If you looked at the pictures the metal is pretty rusted out.

I am looking for a nos or used black 1967 or 1968 Mustang / Shelby dash pad in good shape.

Please let me know if you have one available that you are willing to part with.

Ask a Registrar / First Gen stickers / tags
April 27, 2020, 03:26:43 PM
Does anyone know if the first gen Mustangs / Shelby's ever had a police interceptor sticker or tag?

And if so, what did it look like and where was it located?

TIA

Can someone tell me where I can find a list that would show all of the paperwork, brochures, manuals, etc. along with what stickers stickers (like air cleaner, glove box sticker, trunk, etc.) would be applicable to a 1968 Shelby GT500-KR convertible?

Also, how can you tell original/nos from reproduction?  I have some literature right now that are the same and yet both sellers claim their piece is nos.

Obviously I stand corrected.  I was misled by believing it was unrestored, which apparently it isn't. And my own naivety from being new to the hobby.

Lesson learned.

QuickSilverShelby, what would be the correct emblem on the glove box for a KR?

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: State titles

Indiana does both, depends on the agent at the DMV and whether they are having a good day or not.

I just bought a 68 KR from California and it was titled Ford.  When I went to title it in Indiana, I was adamant that it be titled Shelby Automotive.  I had them physically inspect the VIN and they had me fill out an affidavit attesting it was the same car as titled in California, but that it was titled in error.

Took a little bit of work, but it is now titled Shelby Automotive and to me it was worth it.

Fortunately this one got up to $160,000, although (and I'm glad they didn't sell it at that price) it didn't meet the reserve.  Looks like the seller knows what they have.  That car is worth in excess of $200,000 all day long.

I think the corona virus, stock market and other factors are artificially holding prices and attendance down for the moment. I'm curious what the individual or dealer sales are getting for like vehicles.

As for the purple GT, to each his own.  If that is what he/she likes, then go for it.  Besides, it only helps those of us (with car value) that keep ours original as there are fewer around.

Hockeylife, you are absolutely right!  76k for a 68 KR! WOW!

Wanted to Buy / Shelby signed dash or glove box
March 14, 2020, 02:22:47 AM
Does anyone have an authentic Carroll Shelby signed glove box or wood grained dash piece for a 1968 Shelby GT500 for sale?

It looks like they are giving Shelby's away!

Out of 11 Shelbys to cross the block today, only 3 sold.  A 1968 KR fastback went for $93,500 and a GT 350 fastback only got up to $55,000.  Remember those prices also include 10% buyer fees, which means the sellers actually sold them for $85,000 and the other stopped at $50,000.

Hopefully Saturday will be better.

Bob,

I finally was able to get hold of Pete Disher and told him you suggested I contact him.

He sounded like he was a little upset and then mentioned your name and made some other statements regarding animal husbandry, restraining orders, sheep, you owing him a substantial amount of money and I swear he said you had something to do with the sinking of the Titanic.

It was awkward to say the least.   ;)
