1965 GT350/R-Model / R-Model Question
November 30, 2023, 05:07:11 PM
Did the SCCA rules require B-Production racers to race with a spare tire or did most r-model drivers ditch the spare tire when racing to save weight?

Was P1031 driven by Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant at Sebring in 1966 painted guardsmen blue or nightmist blue. I know P1031 several months later at Le Mans was nightmist blue. I was just curious if Holman Moody repainted it or not. It is hard to tell in photos. Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can purchase some toggle switches for my FIA cobra build? Looking for the toggle switches that screw on to the dash using two screws (not the style that uses a trim ring to attach. I am looking for switches like the ones in the attached photo.

Wanted to Buy / 15 inch Moto-Lita Steering Wheel
June 23, 2023, 10:07:20 PM
Wanting to buy a 15 inch moto lita steering wheel. It can either be the 1965 gt350 solid wood rim style or the split rim cobra style. I know these are reproduced but just want to see if someone has a gently used one available. TIA

Since no one else has chimed in I'll pass along some information I have been told. I cannot verify the accuracy of this info and  welcome any corrections. I have heard that most 1965 R-models used the 715 holley, however, a few people have mentioned that a 780 cfm holley (same as the 427 cobra) would be occasionally placed on an R-model and snuck through inspection as they are visually identical to the 715 (minus the stampings).

1965 GT350/R-Model / R-Model Gas Tank Question
July 08, 2020, 10:47:05 PM
I noticed 5R002 that is going up for auction has a galvanized gas tank while every other r-model I have seen has their tank painted black. Was 5R002 the only r-model to have a non painted tank, or were the other r-models tanks painted during restoration? Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether the bowl, bowl retainer, top plate, and mounting bracket were stainless on the 240a fuel pump or were they zinc plated?

I would assume that the Nite/Day mirror was an owner or dealer installed option, every 65 I have seen has the standard mirror.

1965 GT350/R-Model / R-Model Gas Tank Vent Hose
April 21, 2020, 08:39:13 PM
Here's another question for the group. Does anyone know what size fuel hose was for the R-Model gas tank vent line? I can't tell if it's a 5/16 or 3/8 ID fuel line.

1965 GT350/R-Model / R-Model Lexan Rear Window
April 20, 2020, 12:24:20 PM
I am about to install an r-model lexan rear window in my fastback. I have the original type that has the aluminum horseshoe frame. I was wondering if there is anything that goes between the aluminum frame and lexan window? After looking at numerous pictures it appears that there is something black that is between the frame and widow. Is it rubber to raise the window up flush to the body panel?

Thanks for your help.

Does anyone have any photos of how the r-model oil cooler brackets mount to the radiator? My galaxie radiator doesn't seem to have enough lip on the support to mount the brackets to.
