Thanks Bob. I think you know the 1967 Shelby GT 500 car #2065 engine came out of. I believe you provided some feedback on this for RJ Cars and Chris Santomaro. I am assuming you can attest to the fact that he had BOTH engines (this and the 428) sent down to Holman and Moody to be built. I can only take the word of the original owner that he said he bought it through them (Holman and Moody) originally, but I DO know that Chris and RJ Cars had this motor built in 2012 at Holman and Moody per the letter from Lee Holman attached above.

Page 2 of the letter with Lee Holman's signature. Hope this helps.

Also attached documents and letter from Lee Moody himself when he got the motor back to rebuild again. Hope this helps.

Here is the other side. It looks like a 6? I have documentation from Holman and Moody that they built the engine about 12 years ago as well as confirmation from the original owner that he bought this motor along with 2 others with his friends "around 3 years after he originally bought his 67 Shelby, so that is all I know. Pic of actual engine in the car when it was pulled out of the Barn. It was sent to Holman and Moody again for the rebuild approx 12 or so years ago.

I found the Pad and the # (See Pic attached) It is actually #1.

Bill
The only # is on the pad on side of the Motor. It is a "1" That is all the numbers on the engine. Hope that helps.

This Ford 427 FE side-oiler V8 was built by Holman-Moody in the late 1960s and is said to have been installed in a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 in 1970. The seller states the car and engine remained in storage for around 36 years before the engine was removed and rebuilt by Holman-Moody circa 2012. Jimmy Tucker reportedly carried out both builds at Holman-Moody.

It is listed on BringaTrailer and below is the link:
