Thank you all for the advice

I searched online and found 2 manuals.  Which one do I purchase?

1) 1967 Ford and Mercury Shop Manual

Or

2) 1967 Cougar, Farlaine, Falcon, Mercury, and Intermediate Mustang Shop Manual?

Thanks again!

Hi all

I finally received my 67 Shelby GT500 yesterday and she's a beauty.

It's my first classic car and I  feel like this is the beginning of a long love affair.

The first thing I noticed when driving was the excessive steering wheel play.  From a neutral position, I can move the wheel a decent amount to the left or right without the wheels moving in that direction.  I was able to get home fine, but felt a bit uneasy.

While I'm sure a 53 year old car's wheel won't be as "tight" or responsive as more modern vehicles, I was hoping there is a way to have this fixed both for safety and driving enjoyment.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am located in Los Angeles.

Thanks!

Thank you all for the congratulations!

She should be arriving in the next week.

67 GT500 fully restored black with white stripes.  Automatic.  Pictures were stunning

Can't to meet her   8)

By the way, who is the best mechanic near LA/Beverly Hills for the 428?

Who did you guys insure through? Hagerty?  They don't have great online reviews.  Who else would you recommend?

Any other pointers for a new GT500 owner?

Thank you all for your replies.  Gives me great comfort. And thank you 2112 for guiding me to this forum.

Yes, CA tax is a killer, but that's the price you pay for sunshine and palm trees... 8)

Hi everyone

I'm looking to purchase an out-of-state 1967 GT 500 which has "No Thermactor Exhaust System" because it was delivered outside of California originally

Because I live in California, I realize there is no smog check required for a 1967 vehicle, but would I be able to register this vehicle in California all these years later if it does not have a Thermactor?

Furthermore, the car has inboard lights and I want to make sure that it would be road legal in California.

Many thanks for your advice and expertise!!!
