Can anyone help me? I sent a general post yesterday and, sadly, got only 1 response to 3 questions I asked. I really can use some help with one of these questions. I have a 1966 Hertz Rent a Racer automatic#1616. I am looking to find a rebuilt carburetor for my car. I was told I needed a C6ZF-F probably a FOMOCO carb. Can anyone help me find one?
Thank you.
Ed at 267-566-3336 Feel free to call.

Hi All!  I have not been on this site for over a year, so I may be a bit rusty. I have a few concerns and need your help. In addition to my Hertz #1616, I have a 2004 Mustang Mach 1 and I am trying to get raised white letter tires for this car. The size is 245/45/ZR17. Can anyone help me ---PLEASE?
Next, my 1966 Hertz is a matching numbers car. The motor, trans and rear all are in order and match when Shelby put this together in 1966. My only concern after having this car completely redone, are the courtesy lights in the doors. There are No wires going directly to these lights BUT the holes were correctly cut out from the factory. There is no doubt as to this. Every part of these doors also indicate that they are black, and they were NEVER any other color. could I have a Shelby with courtesy lights installed from the factory or did an owner from the past at some time, change both doors? Will you help me with this?
Lastly, I would like to get the correct carburetor that belongs to this '66 Hertz. Will you please help me with this too? I am not experienced with computers. My wife had to get me on this site. I welcome phone calls and would be grateful. I had a friend that was found on this site, but he decided to abandon me. He was my greatest help and was a genius on these cars. I think I asked him too many questions. PLEASE call me!

Thank you!

Dear People, I was BLESSED to get a phone call from
my "NEW" friend Keith (A SACC Pro) and he helped me get the correct seat belts for my #1616 Hertz!! Can you now help me to get the correct carburetor as well as I was told my car came with a dual point distributor. I need both, as a long time ago, I sent pictures to Howard Pardee and he told me I had a matching car and motor but carb and dist must have been replaced over the years. Your valuable help will be appreciated more than you will know. I want to get this car as correct as both my wallet and availability of parts will allow. Thank you, Ed at 267 566 3336

So far, Thank you for the 3 responses. I need a lot of help following this web site. I kind of thought that I could respond individually to each of the three people who helped me answer the questions about the Rent a Racer seat belts. Please, anyone out there, I would really appreciate any help that I can get as to where I can obtain a set for my car. I am in the registry and own # 1616. I also am terrible on the computer as my wife does almost all of the looking up of info for me. I never got the hang of it and still have a flip phone. I will always accept and welcome phone calls as that is why I list my phone number. If you can help, I will try to get back to this web site or you may call me at 267 566 3336. Again, Thank you, Ed

I need some help PLEASE. I am looking for either a new reproduction or great condition set of seat belts for a 1966 Shelby Rent a Racer.  There is a used set on Ebay for 900 not in good shape as they are pitted with rusted top but the tags are in very good condition. These tags say that they are made by Cummings and sanders. Branda Performance sells a new reproduction set also for 900 but made by Ray Brown which Branda Performance says is correct. I need help as to who actually made these and does anyone out there know where I can get a complete set? Please call Ed at 267 566 3336. Thank you.

Thank you EVERYONE who responded and sent me photos regarding my original questions relating to my 66Hertz. I GREATLY appreciate it. Anyone out there, if you know where I can score the seat belts that belong in this car, it would help a lot. I am still having a problem trying to navigate through this web site as I have  NO  NO  computer skills. I will pick up tomorrow seeking more info. Good night, Ed of klikus3.

Steven, Thank you for your reply. My phone does not receive pictures since I have a flip phone BUT my wife's does. It would be FANTASTIC if you would please send pictures of the placement of the mirrors to my wife's phone. Her number is 267 566 1320. Also, can you help with the seat belts? Thank you, Ed

Concours Talk / 1966 Hertz Mustang chrome bullet mirror
October 26, 2020, 06:03:45 PM
I have a 1966 original Hertz 350 Shelby Mustang that has been restored. I have a ton of questions but I have a pressing one that I need an answer for. Can anyone tell me exactly where the bullet chrome mirror gets placed on the driver's door?  Does it get placed before the side vent window or  does it get placed after the vent window? Does it go exactly in the center of the grove in the door?  Also, I need to get a set of seat belts that were installed in that car from the Shelby dealership. My belts were missing from the car!!  Branda performance states that they sell the look alike competition original seat belts but at a cost of $798.95 IF any are left as they claim this item is in limited supply. I would like to buy a set of the originals. Lastly, I belong to the Shelby club, paid membership and all but I have NOT received a quarterly magazine, which I would like to have. Should I have received one? I am NOT  NOT  computer savvy so my wife has to log me into our computer as she did today. If you wish, I would love to talk to you. You can reach me at 267 566 3336 and thank you. Ed.
