Parts For Sale / 66 GT350 Seat Belt Hardware
March 31, 2025, 02:27:00 PM
This is a complete set of hardware to build one set of correct belts like those typically seen on mid-late 66's. Includes 4-correct freshly chromed long floor hooks, 4-adjusters, 2-short tongue latches, and 2-closed end clasps. Also included as extras 1-short tongue latch, 1-long tongue latch, 1-open end clasp, and 1-adjuster.

$520 which includes USA shipping. Please PM or email if interested.

Thanks,
Dave

I've only seen photos of the G65 from an old post on the VMF, no other info on the other two...

Hi Cory,

I've also seen G65 plus have in my notes an E65 and F65 being for sale in the past.

Hi Jeff,

The Ford A8AZ-1001-A gasket also has the notch, I thought that was the correct style, I know it's what I used on my 66. The MPC's show it as correct for all 65-68 V8 Mustangs, although the 60-68 MPC lists it as 2-7/8" ID while the 65-72 MPC shows it as 2-15/16".

The backing plate gasket is Ford C1AZ-1001-A, Mahle J26568 is another direct replacement.

Air cleaner lid looks like an original early "double hump" version, IIRC it was used on some Cobras.

Jeff,

The Ford MPC calls for A8AZ-1001-A which is listed at 2-7/8", there are some on ebay at the moment. Think the Felpro 55001 should work?

Made from ~55+ year old aftermarket filters with the correct thick nut, identical to NOS, assembly line correct for later 67 GT350. Paint stamped with correct Autolite text and C5AE-9155-A4 engineering number. NOS gaskets included. These are likely the last two gold filters I'll make, the NORS period donor filters are just getting too difficult to find. $40 which includes USA shipping, $70 total for both.

Please PM or email if interested.

I will have ~6 silver Rotunda filters for 66's available in the next couple months, probably the last of those I'll make as well.

Thanks,
Dave

Quote from: FL SAAC on March 27, 2025, 09:09:03 AMThe "Voodoo" 5.2-liter V8 engine, known for its high-revving capabilities and powerful performance in the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, has faced some reliability concerns, including oil consumption and potential bearing failures.

We call it the GRENADE ENGINE

Not sure how an AI generated, copy-n-paste snippet mentioning "some reliability concerns" equates to a grenade engine. Not denying the VooDoo has some concerns, not a huge surprise for an engine spending significant time above 8K rpm, plenty of similar engines in other cars with the same issues.

From my observations most of the "concern" is over-hyped internet banter spread mostly by people who have never owned, or even driven, a 2015-2020 GT350. By far most engines that actually "grenade" are in heavily tracked cars, doesn't seem surprising to me. I agree the VooDoo is at higher risk due to the way Ford built this flat plane crank engine, especially using a UDUD crank sequence as opposed to the typical FPC sequence of UDDU that everyone else uses (including the 5.5L C8 ZO6 engine) which may have increased secondary vibrations inherent in FPC engines. Still, the huge majority of cars that are street driven or lightly tracked have no issues. Oil consumption was mainly an issue with the earlier cars, Ford did fix that late in the 2018 MY with a revised piston/ring package. Turned out low tension rings and an 8250rpm redline are not a good mix.

Regardless, my point was the VooDoo made the GT350 completely unique and special, and at $60-65K, +$10-15K more for the R, it was outstanding bang for the buck. I'm sure the new car will be a good one, I'll definitely ante up for the lottery car. But IMO it will not be as special as the 2015-2020 GT350. I will however, look forward to your review after you get yours... ;)

Basically a Whippled, modified Coyote GT, you can likely build one yourself for a lot less. IMO it will not be a modern GT350 without the VooDoo, it's a shame Ford didn't put more development into that to address the issues...

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Tire recommendation

I'm currently running 215/70R14 BFG T/A's on my 66. In my favor the fender lips have been rolled, not in my favor the a-arms are lowered, I'm guessing that combo is essentially a wash. Regardless, no issues at all.

Quote from: 6s1640 on March 20, 2025, 12:15:21 AMOkay, what's the deal with the master cylinder, the MICO master cylinder used on some early GT350H's?  Check out the image.  Looks like a home made adapter made from wood.  Nice

Cory

Hi Cory,

What car number in your photo? Noticed it does not have shock tower washers...
