Guess I better go and open mine up to check it. Probably won't be putting the car back together for another year (if I get out of Paint Purgatory) but at least I can eliminate 1 problem ahead of time. Another instance of 1 discovery helps many people. Thanks to everyone involved!

Wondering what people are using to replace the staples after you take apart the plastic protector to replace the wiring? Flat wire, heavy duty staples from a stapler.....?

I only have park light also (early car). Socket is yellow.

Would someone happen to have a pic of the switch for the Park warning light where it is mounted to the parking brake mechanism? Thanks!

Ed, do you know if the are splined near the flat head to lock them in place and can you just punch them out to remove?
