I haven't received my copy either.  I'm in Vegas.  What's the best way to reach out or who's the best person to contact and enquire?

2006-up Shelby GT/GT-H / Re: 2006 GTH paperwork

Hey Kevin.

There was a way to try and reach out to Hertz to get some of the original paper work for your car but for the life of me, I don't remember who that contact might be.  It's been 15 years since I bought my 07 from the original Hertz executive owner and I assure you, my memory now sucks so I'm not much help.

Quote from: shelbydoug on February 01, 2025, 12:33:50 PMDoes he offer an address where you can ship the carbs to him at for his rebuilds?
There's no mention in the video where Jerry was sending out the carbs for rebuild.

Excellent video.  Jerry makes the carb rebuild and tune look so easy but I suppose that's how it goes when you're an expert on such things.

I've got a date code correct engine and a date code correct Holley for my 68 GT500.  They've both been sitting in a garage of mine for at least 15 years, waiting to go into my car.  I should probably have an expert like Jerry go over them and rebuild the carb before they get installed, if I ever get around to it.

I assume the price on the car is $80,000 and not $80? If I am wrong and it is indeed $80, I'll take it ;D

Noooo. Not the black KR fastback.  That car went for big bucks.  Honestly, I'm pretty happy with my 68 GT500 that I've owner for almost 20 years now.  It satisfies my 60's car itch.

At my current stage in life, I don't have much of a desire to pick up any "collector" car, new or old.  Recently, I've been spending time at the track with my 2013 BOSS 302S and being on track is what gets my blood pumping so I'll be out there, this summer, with it.  After I change all the fluids, get some new tires and have it inspected.  I had a shot at this car two years ago at BJ Vegas but I didn't pull the trigger.   Honestly, this car looked reasonably priced to me when comparing it to some of the resto mod cars and many of the other offerings that crossed the block.

Or maybe I'm just a dumbass ;D

The wife and I love Barrett Jackson, Mecum, Bonhams, whatever.  We've been going for years just to see all the amazing offerings and watch the show unfold.  I swore that I'd never buy or sell a car at one of these auctions because I don't fully trust the auction houses but for the first time ever, I did buy something.

Quote from: QuickSilverShelby on January 01, 2025, 09:03:27 PMSome people are just dip shits.  $300 for their original manual!  That's some of the best $300 ever spent.

And the people who don't want their original manual...... those owners are "special".

QSS

I suppose by your standards I'm special then. I wanted the original 68 owners manual for my car but was not willing to pay the ransom. He was a previous owner and had tracked me down through Mongo/Vinman . He offered to sell it to me and emailed a picture . The manual was in terrible condition with faded and torn half missing front cover and dog eared inner pages. I still would have paid 300.00 for it in a second if he had offered that because of sentimental value but felt taken advantage of when he said it would take 1500.00 to buy it. While thinking this situation over I looked at the NOS manual I had for the car held in my hand and the picture of the dog eared torn cover manual in the emailed picture on the computer monitor he sent and there was no contest . I was not going to be taken advantage of and pay a obvious ransom so I declined his offer.
I completely agree with you Bob.  Nobody should be held ransom for the manual for their original car.  I guess what I was referring to was Vern's post when he said: "The most bewildering experience by far, though, is when you find an owner and they have absolutely no interest at any price in the manual."    If Vern is gonna offer you your original manual for $50 or $100 or $300 or for free, as Vern alluded to, I consider that totally reasonable but if you decline, at any price in that range, well those are the folks who I consider "special" :).

Completely my error in how I wrote my previous post.  Sorry, I didn't mean to offend.
