1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 Deluxe Seat Back Panel Bracket
February 20, 2024, 03:50:35 PM
Need to buy 1 bracket as pictured. Fits on the upper lip of the seat back panel. Driver and passenger are the same. National Parts Depot shows it on their site, but they can't find a supplier to build them. At $250 for the kit I think I should start.

Thank you for your quick reply on a holiday. I am impressed with your help and all the inputs I have received from each SAAC member.

Had wonderful help on my 1967 Questions. Have moved on to trying to purchase a more complete Shelby. After 2 years of reading SAAC info, still not smart enough to analyze prospective purchase without expert help. Also not smart enough to get past Vincent Liska's spam guard (I can imagine how much mail the registrars get). caseystoudt@yahoo.com. Thank you. Hoping to buy at Kissimmee.

Up For Auction / Re: A new standard?
December 25, 2021, 11:21:46 AM
I ran into a price like that on a Model A brake. Turned out to be an innocent fat finger of the first digit. It helped me because no one else enquired and I bought it for a fair price. I suspect he intended to be at $2999,  not $92999. Let's hope so.

Up For Auction / 1968 Shelby GT350 #00605 Mecum Kissimmee
December 23, 2021, 04:59:27 PM
You guys saved me from a questionable buy last month so now I am hot on the Gary Thomas Mustang that is selling at Kissimmee. I will contact the 1968 Registrar and if the car seems like a likely candidate, I will find a Florida expert to evaluate the car. Your opinion and advice? Thank you Casey Stoudt

I am very impressed with the thoughtful and expert help I have received from SAAC as I evaluate the 1967 Shelby. The advice to contact the 1967 Registrar and to hire an expert to evaluate the car are steps I have followed, with an impressive Spokane expert willing to make the drive and help (for too small a fee). I have also had great help from others who are watching the process. I have appreciated the Hemmings auction process because it gives me time to do the homework vs. a live auction, but at this point all of that help and expertise are on hold because I can't get the church owner's rep to respond to the Hemmings post, to phone calls or to emails to the church. I do feel it is an innocent complication. It appears that a volunteer tried to help and likely is unable to keep up with the specific questions that the Hemmings auction has created. I will keep trying and will keep the 700 plus readers of the post updated on my progress.

I am interested in the Registry information on Shelby Mustang GT350 Registry # 2320. I bought the 68 Registry and suddenly am interested in purchasing a 67. I have been informed by members that the engine is not original. Thank you,

Thanks for both replies. The 1967 Shelby GT350 is on the Hemmings online auction site auctions@hemmings.com it is currently at $110,000. I agree that I need to hire a qualified inspector, the trick will be finding someone with access to Dalton Gardens, Idaho. I will contact the 1967 Registrar this evening. I just purchased the 1968 Registry and then end up looking at a 67. In spite of all my reading I keep finding out how little I know.

I have been a SAAC member for two years, hoping to learn enough to be confident buying a Shelby. I am impressed with the appearance of the 1967 in the Hemmings auction, but concerned with a comment that it is not the original motor. As a person who wants to drive the car, I am not deeply troubled about the motor as long as I properly discount the value so that I can sell it accurately and fairly in 20 years. Can you coach me about the process or better the actual car value. Thank you.
