Concours Talk / Re: 69 Shelby Door

You may be referring to the hole for the power supply to the door interior light.   Since shelby's came with the "deluxe interior" the door would have had the light which of course needed the power and thus the hole.   Standard interior did not have the light so did not have the hole for the power feed.

Hi, All,

I DO have an affiliation with this car  ;D Here's a better link to the actual listing on Mecum's site vs. the HMN feeder:

https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0120-396993/1969-shelby-gt500-convertible/

I've asked Mecum to edit to PW part I don't know where they got that from. As for the EFI it was always my plan to have a fellow Wisconsinite buddy of mine (ahem! PETER  :D) help me return it to the way it was at Shelby with a Conolec system on it. But, try as I might as Pete mentioned he is trying to source a Conolec car of his own so is holding tight to the EFI bits hidden under his mattress for the time being.

So, 0006 remains today as it was when it was shipped to the Hertz Corporation in late '69 with its original CJ intake and carb on it currently.

It's a great car and if anybody is heading to Mecum please look me up- I'll likely be standing guard near the 13 cars I'm bringing (yikes) and it would be great to see some SAAC folks!

Happy Holidays to you all,

Colin

Very much enjoyed reading the Colin Collection booklet on the Mecum site.   It's gotta be rough let these go.   Good luck !

A repost from before the crash

Not specifically related to 69-70 Shelby'ss only but thought I would share this over here.

This is an article I've written and rewritten a dozen times over 20 years. Found it was easier to have a prepared document when I got questions related to the subject rather than going through the whole thing every time. It proved to be a challenge as your always discovering new details, sub patterns and such along the way so it has only been share privately in the past since I never felt it was finished. Not sure anything I do is completely

Also just limiting the coverage to one area of the car was sort of difficult when you want to help and describe everything that was going on at that point at the car plant.  See allot of related requests here so thought it would be a good time to try and wrap it up then focus on some of the other years and plants. Hope some here find it useful in there related endeavors.

For those that are also members of CMF the article is also located in the Library there with all the other articles listed by model year

Its a Big file with plenty of pictures so will take some time to load. Be patient  :)

Hope it helps others

Thanks for looking
