This is a well-documented and very original 1968 Shelby GT500 that has been owned by me since 1991 (32 years). It presently has a documented 42,904 miles on the odometer. It has been mostly preserved in its original factory state. This car is listed in both the 1987 and 1997 Shelby American World Registry.
Built in Metuchen, NJ on February 16, 1968 (1 day later than Buck Tag and Warranty Plate, according to the Marti Report). It was painted Acapulco Blue (code D). The original Build Sheet in hand states the following factory options: power steering, power brakes, air conditioning (Selectaire), tinted glass (all), automatic transmission (C6), tilt-away column, fold-down rear seat, Philco Radio-AM, Deluxe Comfortweave seats, wheel lip molding, Visibility Group, and a clock. The car was repainted in 2000 with a single-stage urethane paint to its original color.
Original documents included are the Factory Build Sheet, original Owner's Manual, and receipts dating from 1968 to the present, authenticating ownership, mileage, and any service performed. The Warranty Plate on the driver's side door, Buck Tag on the passenger side inner fender and VIN tag on the driver-side windshield dash are all present and in original condition. After being built in Metuchen, NJ on February 16, 1968, the Shelby was shipped to Horn Williams dealership in Dallas, TX on 3/1/1968. It was purchased by Mrs. Judy Kyle on 5/28/1968 (original owner's manual available). It was traded in on a Cadillac in early 1969. It was subsequently sold to Walter W. Cline on 3/17/1969. The original used car window sticker and letter of appreciation from Rodger Meier Cadillac, Dallas, TX are available. The car went through several owners (all in Texas) during the subsequent years and was sold to the present owner on 6/3/1991 with 40,741 original miles on the odometer and so stated on the Florida Title as "original mileage".

Extras and upgrades include a set of 5 each 10-spoke aluminum wheel rims (aftermarket) with Goodyear Speedway 350 tires (aftermarket and for show only), an original set of rear Autolite C7ZZ made in Canada shocks that came with the car, and an original style Holly Carb C8ZX List 4129, date coded 814 that presently sits on the intake manifold and front/ rear Koni Adjustable shocks that are installed.
The Shelby presently sits on 4 new Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires, mounted on the original Kelsey Hayes rims and Shelby original hubcaps (all in excellent condition).
