Quote from: Fastbackfred on October 18, 2024, 10:20:02 AMDoes anyone know if the main carb body is the same between the 4118 over the counter gt350 carb, and the lemans 3259 carb? I have heard of guys putting lemans bowls/metering blocks on the 4118 carb for clones, but I can't find the answer to my question. Thanks
You can put the lemans bowls on the 4118 carb for the 65-67 GT350 look but you don't have to change the metering blocks. Lemans bowls are hard to find and when you do they are typically not cheap. Carls Ford still sells new ones
http://carlsfordparts.com/main.html  for 220.00 each. For now at least.
I have all the parts, but I know for a fact that the 65/6 gt350 lemans carbs run leaner than the 4118 replacements. Holley reworked them for the smaller 289. I was hoping that the 4118 body was identical to the 3259 body except for the list number stamping. All I'm missing is the 3259 body.

That is way too much fuel for anything other than high rpm racing. I'd stick with the 650.

I saw, and looked over this car in person. It's a T code fastback with holes drilled various places to mimic a gt350r. Plain and simple. Vin doesn't appear to be a weld in, so the story of a stolen 350r with vin replaced is BS.

Car has a decent paint job on it, but it's not complete. Swiss Cheese floorboards, 8 inch rearend, no interior except for the interior 1/4 panels. There are absolutely no Shelby parts  on, or in this car whatsoever.

It would be a good candidate for a clone, but is just a roller, missing almost everything else.
