Now that I have it I have  stetted reading through starting with my car.  I have found a couple of mistakes I would like to be corrected. I know we are not going to start over but at least a correction in the archive. Who do I contact? Howard?

Thanks for the reminder of the 1966 GT350 Registry. I have everything in, I think. I have been in contact with Howard and that's how it was discovered about the original owner. When the supposed first owner filled out his original paper work for some reason he put the wrong 6Sxxxx number down. After some searching his contact information was located but he is in the other world now driving his car down the road. The original owner was "unknown and became "known" and now it is back to "unknown". At least I am still the known last owner for now..

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / History Wanted for 6S1348
April 09, 2019, 02:11:31 PM
I am upgrading my cars information for the new upcoming 1966 Registry. My car is  6S1348 and I have owned it for about 40 years. The 2011 SAAC Registry turns out is not correct about the original owner of this car. He appears to have owned a different car so we do not know at this time who first bought 1348 in 1966.
The car was originally shipped by Shelby on 4/7/1966 to Henderson Ford,  Ann Arbor, Michigan. The second owner, Patrick Brady ( AKA Pat Brady Racing Ent.) showed an address of Plymouth, MI. The third owner is Lawrence Oswald of San Diego, CA. Do you know of any information about this cars early years ownership from 1966 to 1971. Do you know or know of the original owner or either of the past owners or their racing with the car.  I would be very appreciative.

Thank you in advance,

Les Lawrence

Wanted to buy a set of Original 1966 sill plate emblems. Used or Nos...No Reproductions Please.

Thanks,

Les 6S1348
Which ones ?

One line...
I understand the question meaning one line or two line emblems. I replaced my scruffy originals with repo one lines. I am sure as I can be I replaced original one line with new Repo one lines, but that was in the 1980's.

There was discussion on this topic in March...
Original Windshield Wiper Bag?
« on: March 15, 2018, 04:11:02 PM »
Plus other discussion about dates for white and gold bags.
Owned several SJ cars, not Shelby's with later build dates with having white bags.

When I bought 6S1348 in the early 1980's it was un restored and had a white lettered
wiper bag. It still has it.

The San Diego Cedar fire in 2003 came within two blocks of our house. We would have lost it all except for the bravery of our neighbor and his water truck. With no help except his two sons they fought the fire all night and saved the while neighborhood. Our warning was 5 minutes so 1348 and my wife's 56 Thunderbird set in the garage. We know a lot of people who lost it all. We were lucky and grateful.
Good luck 1117.

6S1348's Day Two addition of Ford Tri-Power. Added in the 1980's after finding it in a garage covered with dog hair.
Air cleaner studs are fabricated because the top is from a 2x4 system and the spacing is different.
For years I always had problems with the carb gaskets leaking fuel when starting after sitting for long periods of time.
Newer gaskets seem to not shrink with time like the earlier ones.
Note the casting date code 9 64...
