Thanks for sharing. Takes me back to great memories of these cars in the day.

I have always thought this was one of the great nostalgic pieces to the cars of the day. Anyone could go into their Ford dealer, and if they were willing to wait, could order a special paint on an everyday car. My father ordered a special paint color on his 64 Galaxy 500.
The German's will still do this...for a price.

Sorry to demonstrate my simple Canadian naivety, but is that not simple out and out fraud?

This is the period correct emblem for Metro Ford, Calgary's Shelby dealership.

Here is mine from Healy Motors, Edmonton, Alberta.

By any chance, would anyone have an image of a period correct one for Fuller Ford in Cincinnati?

As said by all above, they are two very different cars.
Is your decision to be based on: personal enjoyment factor, aesthetics, investment potential? Answer those questions, and you should have your answer where you want to put your money.
Will defer to wiser souls here, but from a pure investment perspective a big block should win out when comparing these two years head to head nearly always.

Matching numbers, but the window sticker says it was a four speed...Oh, matching, other than the transmission.
It went to a Pennsylvania dealer, so a km speedometer must be a late afterthought during restoration. Certainly makes it "look faster".

There appears to be much to be pointed out, but I will defer the experts here. Dependant on your knowledge base of 68's, if you are not conversant with them, reach out 1:1 with one of the members here or who you might know locally, whose expertise is 1968.

In 1959, my mother had never learned to drive. She had two children entering school. One day my dad showed up with a "playboy" pink ranch wagon, gave her the keys and said:  "Yours to enjoy, have fun". Started an extended Ford station wagon history in our home. Wish I had a pic from the day she received it.
