I was there the cars were priced where should have been after adding the fees. The Boss was a pretty solid car driver quality. It was a good buy for someone. The paint was a 10 footer. The Mach 1 the same way. The 67 Shelby brought good money. A 63 Falcon Conv. That Jimmy Buffet once owned brought around 230k before fees.

Appeals / Re: Paint Thickness

I have several original paint mustangs 65-69 and like someone else replied I think most measure 1-5  it's different panel to panel. They will measure higher on the lower parts of course where they don't get wiped as much. Most cars that have been painted measure 5 plus and can be 10 plus according to primer and what kind of paint.

Try rotating front to back and see if it changes. Did you have the wheels on it before you changed the tires? If it didn't do it then, point to the tires. If you added both at the same time. Jack it up, crank it up, put it in gear and see if the wheels are turning true on the axles. Your wheels should be hub centric but if not sometimes they can bolt up out of round believe it or not. I've had some 66 wheels that were drilled off center. If they look out of round bolted up take them off and move the wheel on the hub and give it another try. Make sure when they balance them they are not just balancing them on one side. The brand tire you have is not the most perfect tire for roundness like a Michelin but I understand you have them for looks. I've even seen rear brake drums way out of balance that caused problems (very rare) The big question is when did the problem start was it always like that or just when you changed the tires. If it started when you changed the tires then it's the tires or one of them. Call me and I can give you more tips I worked in our family tire business for a long time and used to be the one that fixed the problems. 828-308-8103 Andy

Up For Auction / Re: 6S406 - Bring A Trailer

I have a L-79 Corvette with the original engine and its real I have everything that goes with it to prove it. I also have a 69 Z/28 that has the original engine and paperwork so I have everything to prove that also. But there are plenty of people that make L79s out of 300 hp cars and 425 Hp ones out of 390 hp ones and there are people that try to make 68-69 Z/28s. ( I know most 69s were a X33 or x77 car but some were not) That's why when you have a Chevrolet you better have some original paperwork to prove your point and you better have all your dates and codes worked out. What I'm saying about a Ford or Shelby is you know what it was by the engine code you don't have to prove that point but if you have the original engine that's just icing on the cake. The original block is a definite plus but not as critical as a GM car. On GM brands the original block means a lot or you need a lot of original paperwork.

This is not a Chevrolet Camaro or Corvette where your trying to prove your car is numbers matching because the Vin number doesn't show you which engine it had from the factory. This is a K code and it's also a Shelby so you know what motor it came with. Even if it wasn't the original block the value would not be much different. I would rather have a good bodied solid car with a replacement block than a rusty or wrecked up car with the original block. I've seen several vin number mistakes on cars I wouldn't worry about it.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: 5R538

He also said his dad was a Shelby dealer but didn't have a Ford dealership. He said he had a import dealership in Alabama. I think he later had a Ford dealership and then a Dodge dealership. This is what his 60 year old son said I don't personally know. He did have a picture of a trophy that his dad was the B production southeastern champion in 1967. I have this fellows phone number if any of the information helps anybody.

I had a fellow to come in the car lot a week ago and when he came in he said you must like Shelby Mustangs seeing pictures on the wall. I said yes I have a few. He said his dad bought a racing Shelby new and used to race it. I said do you know what the serial number was? He said he didn't have any idea. He said I have a picture in my phone somewhere. I told him to look for it I wanted to see it. He found it and when he showed it to me I said I've seen that car before having the fluorescent painted valance. He said his dad painted it like that to distinguish his car from other Shelby's at Daytona on pit row. He said his dads name was Roger West and sure enough I found it in the registry it was 5R538. Here is the only picture he had.

If all of them look like your last picture they are not correct.

Every old car smells like gas fumes and so does a new one when you take off the cat.converters.

I'm guilty of having one also. I just don't tell all of my Ford friends trying to save my reputation. On race day I'm all Ford!

Wow, that looks like the '66 coupe I sold three years ago. Right down to the same redline tires.

Here's mine (427/425, 4-speed, 4.11s) going on the Reliable truck to the new owner.

Did yours come from SoCal?

Love Nassau Blue.
No mine came from NC from a friend and it's a 327-350 HP with air and PS. Yours does look like it.

Beautiful cars! C2 Corvettes and Shelbys I never get tired of seeing them like everyone else that's why both stay hot on the market.
