I am currently working on a 1968 Jamaican body with a 57 Corvette frame. I always wanted to build my own car, combining many of the collector cars I've wanted, but couldn't afford. It's a big and expensive project.

Looks like a custom made lighter. Notice the newer blue paint, with the way it was painted (inside the letters, and the white speck inside the letter 'B'), and no paint patina. The snake has been available from vendors for many years.

I have keychains that were custom made by people in our local SAAC-Arizona Region, made in the 1980's, which have some patina.

Quote from: FL SAAC Team Leader on December 21, 2024, 11:58:56 AMSo $695 that's for a reproduction piece

How much is an original one worth with the grille and shelby grille emblem worth?

Here is a reproduction grille:

When feelings are more important than facts. Sound familiar?

I believe that the seller didn't know anything about the past restoration, and before resto photos. Some bidders and watchers made comments which were eventually dismissed. Seller did very well. I suspect the new buyer will have it professionally inspected soon.

I inspected this Shelby at Fontana Raceway when I attended SAAC-30. Yes, there are some issues
already observed by people on BAT, and I would encourage anyone who is a serious buyer to have it professionally inspected. You will be glad that you were proactive. (As you would any other Shelby at an expensive price)

One of my trusted friends had inspected it, and they believe that over 80% of the metal panels have been replaced. That, and he was also told so by the seller in the 1990's. Looking at their detailed pictures, it sure looks like it.
