FYI, here in Australia, we can reserve the plates and pre-order pates of our choice.

For example, my 66 GT350H has a plate "66HRTZ". in Victoria were restricted to 6 characters. I no longer use that plate as I have club registration which is cheaper  but it is reserved to me only not the state.

I'm in Melbourne so over on the other side.

Looks like the casing is non black crinkle which if it is suggest it's a service part.

To my understanding all original tacho's were black crinkle finish cases

Yep looks like a casting mark not a crack.

Have you noticed a change in the the way the engine runs since discovering the image?
