Jim Morrison's is next. Someone at Carlisle said it's turned up and and the auto archeologists guy's are doing a show on it!  Maybe Dennis has found it! ;)

Getting ready for Carlisle, painting the pan bolts that got scratched up when changing the gasket. Wiping down underneath.

I was clinched and smiling at the same time with this read. Thanks for passing it on.

I ended up buying several extra sockets and picked the ones that fit the best. It was a little strange that some would fit better than others and bending the tabs didn't seem to work right. I also agree with dielectric grease.

Mine also was bare shell after painting and I didn't think was hard. Only part was the bend into the engine bay around the frame had to be manipulated a little.

Just to make sure, you know the one piece goes down the driveshaft tunnel right.

Oh I got that now thanks. I misread that part. Thanks. I didn't paint the adapter so that's good, it didn't look like it ever was.

Hum. Very interesting with the black and the blue color stuff.  I don't know what a " lunch pail part" is. I've heard that term before but never asked what it means. So I'm thinking paint the aftermarket one in the picture with correct crimp ( I see what you're talking about) paint it blue, let it dry, spin it on the engine mark how it's clocked pull it off paint on a heavy coat with runs.  I don't want blue over spray getting on everything. Sound about right?

Is that what everyone is doing for SAAC judging? If so what filter are you starting with just a standard FL1A and spray it?

" c " marked clamp very helpful I'll have to see what I purchased. Along with the clamps the fuel line looks unmarked with "gas" in all the pictures if I need to address this would be the time. I have a one piece fuel line. And should line by tank and before pump be same, with or without "gas" markings.
