Interesting discussion on car insurance. I had Grundy insurance for many years......1974 to 2018. They always went above and beyond on the few claims I submitted. When hit by a drunk uninsured driver while in our Packard they paid the full amount and full medical in less than two weeks. When i hit a bird with my 280Sl and needed to replace the center grill they said to get a nos not aftermarket. But the best was when the rear window on my GT350 cracked they helped find a correct nos instead of just a replacement.

If I remember, and that's a stretch these days, the '67 & '68 oil pressure gauges are different. One '67 is 100 and '68 80.

Appeals / Re: Shelby-Steffans Lake Tahoe

I lived in Lake Tahoe from 1969 to 1984. A little update as I remember. Shelby bought the Ford dealership in 1968 located at1875 Lake Tahoe Blvd.in 1974 he sold his interest and it became South Shore Motors. At that time there was a Cobra andGT500 on the showroom floor. Then in 1976 it sold to Richard Anderson who renamed the dealership Shelby-Stefan's Ford, the name Stefan's came from Richard's private investor. Latter the investor Fred Streeter took over ownership and it became Shelby-Streeter Ford. Fred was friends with Carroll.
Fred latter opened a dealership in Reno but don't think it was a Ford dealership.
Fred became friends as he ran his car flooring through BofA which my wife worked at. Somewhere I have a plate frames of Shelby Ford and Shelby Stefan's Ford. While my memory is rapidly fading, this is how I remember it. Even though Carroll sold the dealership for some reason future owners kept the name relationship!

If you can afford $650,000 you are a person of financial means. So why by a continuation/ kit when with little time and effort find a real csx2000 car for perhaps 750-850?

Interesting about changing colors! I bought #0194 which was red but originally lime green and repainted it white to match #0962!

There's a post on Facebook from Steve's Auto Sales for a blue '69 GT 350 for $69,000. The vin # coresponds to a '69 Red GT 500!

Jeff, the colored pictures are the ones! Took those in my parents garage! Interesting thing was I decided to take all the smog off and put plugs in the holes! Took almost 2-3 hours. When done fired it up drove a block and then it just stopped! Didn't know you couldn't just disconnect without retiming. Was at the age...22...where I thought I knew everything! Put it all back and never tried that again! About 6 months later I bought CSX2192. Had both till late '69. Who would have know the future value as they were every day drivers....not the Cobra in the rain though....it leaked!

Thank you Bob. So most likely the breather cap on 0962 was an error. The engine compartment picture I have is dated June '67 about a month or so after i bought it. Too many memories @80!

I'm confused. My '67 GT500 (#0962) had a breather cap on the valve cover and had a thermal smog set up. Somewhere in tha archive there is a picture of the engine compartment.
