Note: moderator says I have to put a price...I haven't a clue...so let's pull 'something out' - knowing I am open to offers. $175 (+$25 shipping/delivery if you are within driving distance from me - free if you pick up, of course).  Almost forgot: stored in a smoke-free home. :-)

No these wheels were not originally installed on any Shelby's

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / quick hub cap question

I'm going through a bunch of parts in storage and found these GT hubcaps [tried attaching a photo - didn't work - but they are the standard dog bowl hubcaps with a red GT logo, with chrome beauty trim with lots of slots].  Looking it up 'they' say it is for a '68 Torino, etc.  I've never owned a Torino and don't know anyone that did - but I did own a '69 Mach 1, 64-1/2 Mustang and a '68 Shelby.  Could someone shed some light as to what they were on?  I'm guessing the Mach I since I remember replacing the wheels.  I doubt they came from the Shelby since there are plenty of them available on ebay, with no mention of these in any of my Shelby reference books - but just wanted to confirm that was not the case. Thx!

I'm glad someone just added to the post - I realized I forgot to update you all.  I know you all were on pins and needles waiting - lol!  After poking around 'everywhere' my friend determined  the problem was in the emergency flasher switch!  Who would have thought - since the flasher was in the off position.  Apparently there was just enough of a connection (corrosion/old age) that it was causing the electrical system to consider it active - even though it was off and the lights were not flashing.  He switched it on and off several times; the clicking stopping and the no sparks coming from the battery any more.  :-)

About a week or so ago I asked the folks here an 'Electrical Question'.  Got some great responses and sent them to my friend to help him with our quest (he said 'thanks, all!).  He lives out of state, but will be coming by next week to look over the issue and see if he can fix it.  In the meantime, he asked if anyone had any sources on getting a wiring diagram (68 Shelby GT500).  I have a Mustang book called an 'exploded view' - which is helpful, but he really would prefer a wiring diagram.  Any suggestions?  Thanks, much!

Thanks, rodster-500.  I bought the car in the late 70's - but it's been in storage more than it has seen the light of day.  :-)  I always dreamed of the day it would be road-worthy but life doesn't always work out as one dreams -lol!  I'm now a 'senior' and no longer have the support from a dear friend who has worked on it all these years - since he retired and moved out of state.  Anyway - should that day come it is good to know there are options to ensure it goes to a good home.  :-)  Thanks!

Why not?  :-)  Actually, I never thought I'd even think of doing it until I got too old to drive - but my best friend that has spent more hours under the hood of that car has moved to another state.  I now feel lost without his support....so the thought does cross my mind at times.

Thanks, Cobrask8.  I think mine are in the console -  the clicking sound was definitely near the driver's side dash.  We thought the clock - but it hasn't run for years; unless it's trying to start again :-)  He did pull some of the larger amp fuses - but we probably should try all of them next time.
