Going home today my son was following behind me and said No One, neither people on the side of the road or in their cars took a second look. He said he was very disappointed. I did have one guy ask what year the car was and saying it was very nice.Quote from: cobradad on July 31, 2019, 05:56:38 PMQuote from: JD on July 31, 2019, 05:39:16 PM
congratulations!!
Those spec's read a lot like an engine I had and it looks the same, heads, oil pan, front cover - it ran great.
Headers??
Thanks, it has been a long haul project for sure.
Stayed with the tri-y's. After being in place for 40 years why mess with what works.
I also transferred the Shelby intake, Buddy Bar valve covers and the Shelby style oil pan to try to keep things looking somewhat original.
I'm hoping it runs as well as expected. The real test will be in bumper to bumper traffic with 100+ temps like coming from Laguna Seca back to the bay area.
Perfect - I bet it sets off many car alarms and mothers grab their children once you're in ear-shot!!

Quote from: Richstang on July 31, 2019, 06:12:22 PMHad a short 30 minute test of bumper to bumper traffic.
That's sounds strong!
Glad you have her up and running again. Good luck with those summer high temps!

It can't be changed back. You can run the factory tach with pertronix. I posted on Phil and he rebuilt the Ford factory tach. He is one of the few that has the parts. Stay away from Tachman.
I'm installing a Pertronix distributor and because of this I was told that I need to "Upgrade" the tachometer from a 2 wire to a 3 wire setup to get the tachometer to work.
Any recommendations on who I could send mine out to in order to get this done? Cost estimate for this to happen?
Help is always appreciated.
Thanks,
Clarence
If you need assistance on how to make the factory stuff work shoot me a PM. I'll be glad to walk you through. It's pretty simple.
