I'm looking for a HIPO crankshaft with testing mark and C5 balancer.

Thanks
Matt

Maybe your buddy Pookie is still alive and well with one? Remember the guy in NC you bought the K-code VIN (formerly a T-code VIN) convertible from you were re-selling?  :)

Would you please explain why this is a bad idea? Just wondering. I would like to have concrete reasons for this. In case I was ever to sell my car, I would want to explain this to a potential buyer asking for that info.

Here is one of many reasons:

Were the 65/66 Untappered axles identical to '65/'66 HiPo axles?

I believe this was the plate included with warranty? I have yet to find 1966 decode information that would decode the "89" for this plate.... Any help appreciated! Also, G for engine.

6 = 1966
Y = Wixom, MI
89 = ? I can't find anyone online
G (engine) = ?
446xxx = consecutive unit number

F = light blue paint
72 = blue trim?
14D = 14th April, 1966
52 = Des Moines
6 = 2.80:1
4 = C6 Automatic XPL

Hi Silver Bullet,

I did see this tag.  Please educate us on  the key feature that is telling you it is a repop.  A side-by-side comparisons works the best if not really obvious.

Thanks

Cory

After some thought I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt as a very light stamping. Its missing the "R)" at left/bottom of FoMoCo logo. I have never seen one missing that before, however I guess it could be a first...

Up For Auction / Re: 65 K-code fastback

Relisted https://www.ebay.com/itm/174198631809?ViewItem=&vxp=mtr&item=174198631809

Pictures show the Autolite 4100 has a fake (reproduction) tag as bad as it gets. C4OF-AL with 5K (1965 October) date didn't exist.

VIN stamp on engine looks like a re-stamp based on my experience/comparison to an authentic June '65 K-code Dearborn stamped block in my possession. Thats my opinion.

VIN stamp on fender apron looks wavy to my eyes. Anyone else notice that?

I have not seen an OEM absent the "FoMoCo" stamping has anyone else? The fan at auction appears to have "SC" substituted for the "FoMoCo" stampings...
