Ned, this kinda looks like a NorCal car most recently purchased out of Gilroy.....now in Martinez ??

I dont have the history in front of me......

In interviews with many of the drivers in period, many of these 'details' were overlooked in the interest of a full field.

And frankly, this is an old ad, Conley bought the car....and I really dont have the time or desire to prove it here.

98SVT - was 06GT.  Before you make a judgment on this car and its eligibility to run in the HTAG, you may want to do some additional research.  You are correct, it has no ties to Shelby American, however, according to the second owner - Jim Harrell, it does have TA history(this has been documented by me and Craig Conley)......................and has participated with the HTAG in recent events.  Gary

OK.....I'll play......It could be SAAC-20, July '95 @ Atlanta...............based upon the banking of the track, the box seating above the 'old' track(before reconfiguation) and the cars/licsense plate in the backround...of course Ned is correct ..CSX3197

Tony Oddo Sr/Jr @ TOE Performance have successfully used 390 cfm carbs on their race engines using this manifold.  In fact, he still has my dual carb ram box manifold as we were planning on building a engine specific for use on longer tracks like Road America....... but I sold the car prior to building it.

Fortunately, I had the correspondence from Senter(Ford) to Maier which proved the manifold was given to him prior to its official introduction and ran in a T/A event or two prior to Maier receiving a Boss 302 from H/M..............otherwise, I would have had to run another period appearing manifold...........

What Randy says is true.........although the Maier car was a '68 S code coupe.  Another clarification...while the Box manifold(with single carburetor top) did make a few less HP than the much later technology of the Vic Jr or Parker(the best motor was 489 HP @7600), it did produce in excess of 400 ft/lbs of torque on a 305 ci engine with original/ported C6FE heads.  I dont know of many combos before or since that did. It was lightly massaged to prevent fuel puddling and performed flawlessly.

BTW, if anyone needs one of these, I still have one with a two carb top sitting at TOE...............PM me.

Spoke with Jim W at length last night.  He is out of town and will review the photo tonight to see if he can remember the date and/or the event at Ontario.  His tentative belief is the event was the Mustang II intro............. will follow-up.  Definitely csx2602, he drove this car frequently during this time period.
