It's possible to find NOS or NORS ones in Ebay.

Some older automotive upholstery shops usually have the correct "vintage" convertible trim snap buttons.

The current replacements don't match up well with the originals. I think...the contours of the stamping are a bit different than the original stuff and the metal is a little thinner on the current replacements?

Also, those snaps weren't only installed in Ford products. The "Big 3" auto makers used those too.

I have a NOS 65 Mustang or Shelby NOS grille for sale. This grille does not have the original Ford box. It is the correct blue gray color and has never been installed in a car. An excellent piece for that restoration. Price is $250 plus shipping. Email gandcmurphy@rogers.com if interested. Thanks.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: '69 Convertible Emblem
Last post by Bob Gaines - September 15, 2024, 11:10:22 AM
Just to report that the metal of the emblem is such that if a slight curvature of a particular emblem needs adjustment it can be typically be carefully bent to conform. It doesn't take much pressure to accomplish if at all. The metal given its composition and thickness is flexible enough that the emblem will typically flex to conform to the upper roof area contour when pressed in place regardless of if straight or slightly curved.

There are whole lot of things to think about when replacing the floors in your convertible.  One of the first considerations is to be sure to weld in bracing to keep that body together when the floor comes out.  Whats the condition of the torques boxes and the inner rocker panels?  Its been my experience when removing a floor that lots of other things can show up that need attention; so do a thorough inspection of all of those potential problem areas and make a plan for removal/installation and get your replacement panels ordered and ready to go.

Get ready to document all of the interior parts and wiring you will need to remove or replace before you can get to the floor removal.  Not a lot of details in your post about your experience level.  Do a good online search for information about what you are going to do.  Some pretty good older publications out there on Mustang floor panel replacement.  Better yet, if you can find a professional or very experienced body guy that has done this stuff before you will be very glad you did.
