To me EBay has been a joke over the years. I try an "NOS" search say for 1968 Ford or Mustang and it appears I get so much BS postings from signs, generic fasteners  to other makes car parts. Has anyone found a method to limit the SPAM ads as they must be that. Thanks. Gary

It helps if you use the filter and select brand Ford.

I think you can set the amount over a certain amount to weed out a lot of the low cost stuff.

If it starts it's streetable.
Overkill is just enough.

If a lot of your results comes up with words like (fits Ford) or (for Mustang) and they will be in
paranthesis' in the description, you can eliminate the words 'fit' or 'for' by putting a minus
sign in front of them in your search argument, and eliminate those results.

Gary,

I get the same type of results with anything like '1969 Mustang NOS parts'.

I resorted to using searched like 'C9ZZ NOS' which seems to weed out a lot but not all of the BS.

Try searching for the 67 Shelby wheel cover, or 70 boss 302 trim rings and hub caps....lol

Type in your description 1968 Shelby gas cap -(For: 1968 Mustang) or whatever phrase you see too much of.  You can also do it for sellers names.  1968 Shelby gas cap -65.fi-375hp is one that pollutes everything.

Here is a GREAT example of my frustration.  No Shelby parts or even  Ford parts. How in the heck can they even put "similar parts you might be interested in and all are Delco Remy parts. I don't know how these sellers are allowed to spam. It has been years since I have been on Ebay searching for parts for a car I am restoring and it sucks.  I also took a search and did some limiting and still got some medallion and a few other things that still showed up first.

It's far from perfect, but you can eliminate some of it by playing with it.  Try searching titles only. A lot of sellers have hundreds of keywords down at the bottom of their listing.

Yeah and those used to be considered spamming. It's amazing how I reconfigure the search words and words to eliminate and the same BS items keep coming up first.

I just tried to find a way to do that but it appears it can no longer be done without including the description.  Do you have a trick?  I have my eBay searches linked to PicClick. That way it's easier to weed out the "junk" as you're only viewing images of the items for sale.

You might be right. I can't find that option now. They might have changed it.

I was just playing around with some searches, and even the -sellers name doesn't seem to be working.  I don't have the patience for eBay I used to.  They seem to be catering to the spammers like some other sites.

Back in 2009 I ran into storage problems so I put my 1968 Shelby GT350 and a 15K survivor 73 Mustang vert on Ebay and I was only selling one(both ads said if 1 sold the other ad would be pulled). Well the 6th day into the auction for the 73 with good bids and a lot of watchers my ad disappeared. THe problem? In my description I put 1972 and 1971 in it. I CALLED Ebay and the rep said I was reported for SPAMMING because I added 72 and 71 in my description. While on the phone I cited at least a dozen other 71-73 cars doing the same thing and I told them that is common because the 3 years are virtually identical. I asked if those ads would be pulled. They never did. I then had to relist the car and start the process all over again while seeing these other cars still run their course. I don't think I have listed another ad other than my 68 Shelby a few years later using them for advertising and selling it privately to someone who contacted me from the ad. F&*K Ebay has been my response since 2009 for selling. Now I can't even find what I'm looking for without so much spam. I actually sold the 73 on the 3rd try with a BIN in 2 hours.
