Trying to validate a distributor.  On the C5OF what is the specification for maximum distributor advance and at what distributor rpm does it occur?  Thanks.

A C5OF-E uses the 13/18 reluctor.  If it is assembled correctly, the maximum mechanical advance at the crankshaft will be 2 X 13 = 26 degrees.

Thanks for the reply.  Second question is at what distributor rpm is the 13 degrees achieved?

From the Ford Spec sheet

C5OF-12127-E
  650 RPM - 2 1/4° to 3 3/4°
  750 RPM - 4° to 5 1/2°
1,000 RPM - 6 1/2° to 7 1/2°
1,600 RPM - 7 1/2° to 8 3/4°
2,000 RPM - 8 1/4° to 9 3/4°
Steady advance from 9 3/4° to 13°
At some point around 2,500 RPM the distributor max advance is 13°
The limit is 14°

Those numbers are distributor machine numbers

IMO no way the curve results will ID a distributor.  Most of the ones I work on have been messed with.

It is a C5OF  My question was to validate it is operating to specification.  Thanks.

Agreed on both counts.
