AMK uses out hex bolts in its master engine kit for the 1966 Shelby for the Cobra oil pan. I noticed "witness" marks on my T-pan indicating star washers were previously used. I have only seen those washers used with Phillips head machine screws.

So what are the correct fasteners that Shelby used in mid-March 'for the T-Pan?

Thank you.

RBW bolts with star washers is correct. Virginia clsssic or Shelby parts and resto sells them as a kit. My car however has Rockford Pan bolts

External tooth star washers is correct. You should see "bite marks" from the washers on the pan. I am 99.9 % positive there wasn't a manufacturer call out on these bolts OR header bolts. There was NO reason. 10,000 grade 5 1/4-20 x1" bolts "could be " from more than one supplier especially if "a couple thousand" were in stock and the rest were ordered or "staged delivery". Again SAI-Buddy Bar-Cyclone etc did not function like FoMoCo. where each bolt had it's own spec and blueprint!

We are discussing a 66 fastener subject but just so that there is no confusion it was the 65 GT350's that had the T pan changed out at SA before they got Ford to do it that typically used the Phillips head machine thread screw and star lock washers.Just a note for the memory banks.
