You already got your answer which I agree with BTW but I am curious why the ask ? You typically don't ask random questions without a back story.  Wondering if there is some sort of urban legend that someone had told you about. Just curious.

Bob,  I have Chris Laytons car at my shop undergoing restoration and it is an early steel framed hood car but has cut out on left side as if needing clearance for paxton.

Before making a call I would first be sure that the 67 unique motor mounts are in place. Another year motor mounts and or generic replacements may have caused a unexplained clearance problem in the past and a notch in the innerstructure may have been done to solve the problem . With correct 67 motor mounts in place I would use some clay at the area on the blower that corresponds with the notch to determine clearance with the hood closed. After removing the pins you could probably use a all steel hood with intact innerstructure for the clearance testing process .

I have a 1967 GT 350  #1933 with a vintage SN 60 Paxton. If the  Paxton is clocked correctly, there should be no problem with clearence issues
Jim Carmain.   PS Whatever Bob Gaines tells you, you can take to the Bank. His knowledge is immense!!

I'm blushing Jim. Thanks for the compliment.
