On the 67 I'm working on it has fine thread pellet lock nuts. Is that correct?

A's are the most typical with the RSC being much less typical at SJ at least.

Here is one car and adjuster with one of each of the bolt heads (and markings) Bob referred to.



I found almost an equal number of each in the examples I have. Didn't look to see if there was a pattern based on production period

Only you, Jeff, that would have a picture of two different bolts on a tie rod sleeve!  🤣

+1  . I take my hat off to Jeff  or great ability to quickly supply pictures with a given subject . I have pictures but not even close to being adept as he at referencing and adding them to a post like Jeff does.Keep it up my friend.

Just got lucky to find one or two

Saved on having to post multiple pictures and shows what did or could take place in real life. Would not suggest copying this pattern of one of each unless you document that this is how your car was built?  No reason to do things like that simply to have your car different

10-14-66 has all RSC. The nuts are so rusty I can't tell what the original finish was. I suspect they were phosphate?

Bolts were darkened as if they had been P & O

Don't recall ever seeing nuts with the inserts P & O on that style of nuts.
