I've seen a few 69 GT500's without speakers in the door panels. Were door speakers an upgrade?

Standard for AM/8-Track and AM/FM radio only
AM radio only had center speaker mounted under the dash pad.

Thank you. Makes sense, AM-only doesn't need L/R stereo speakers...........
