Has anyone been watching the new Discovery Channel show Sticker Shock?  Folks bring their cars on to the show to be appraised by three so called 'experts', and they are given a retail value.  Overall it's pretty entertaining.  This last episode featured what the owner claimed was a 1967 Shelby GT500.  Of course it was an Eleanor.  It just frustrates me how many idiots don't just say they have an Eleanor, a copy of a 1967 Shelby GT500.  Is anyone else sick of the whole 'Eleanor' thing yet?  At least the show listed the car as a 1967 Ford GT500 Mustang.  ???

I am getting a couple of Friends together to start a new Business soon and we will start buying 1967 Shelby GT 500's and turn them into Eleanor's so people can honestly SAY they own a Shelby GT 500 Eleanor with out upsetting anyone.  After all, if they are going to spend over $180K for a Eleanor Mustang, they might as well have an Eleanor Shelby.

Sorry, I have never liked these cars from the beginning. I was very disappointed that the movie chose to go in this direction rather than to create a car that better looked the part of a 1967 GT500. To each his own.

Yes. It's extremely frustrating. It's even more disappointing to see these cars (at times) change hands for more money than the real thing.  ::)
Nothing beats a classic!

In the beginning of the segment they ask the owner what they feel the car is worth.  The idiot owner said $60-$70k.  The expert 'sticker shocked' him by telling him it was only worth $30 to $40k.  Ha!

The "Expert" opinion was more than fair in my mind. Another $20,000 could take it back to a nice 1967 Mustang Fastback!

Someone likes the Eleanors.

He should have upgraded his stock suspension and 6-cylinder engine.
