I've been using this style compressor for decades only a homemade version. Much better than the hook type. Highly recommended as not only is the coil spring protected, so is the mechanic. That is the more important consideration. Do you realize how much energy is tied up in a spring under compression? Severe injury can result if it suddenly becomes uncontained. Don't risk it, go with Mr. Gains recommendation.
