Unfortunately, no evidence it was ever built as a Shelby.

I was a previous owner. It was meant to be built as a Shelby by all evidence but the Shelby conversion was never started on .It was  completed at Ford with all the Shelby wiring installed on the Ford line just like any other 69 Shelby but never shipped to Smith . Apparently the program was killed most likely because of the Mustang Boss 302.

when you owned it did it have the G and the 48 designations in its v.i.n. or its tags and its title ?

This auction reminds me of a kid that didn't do their homework and then opened up an encyclopedia and copied everything that said "boss" and "shelby"
